In 2023, Dowhigh recycled over 96% of all of the road planings which were taken from works and re-used this in projects across the North West - reducing the amount of waste which is sent to landfill and helping our planet. We continue on our journey to being a business with net zero emissions by 2030 and are working with local councils when specified to use carbon friendly products, whilst at the same time looking at new and innovative ways to reduce our carbon emissions including solar powered welfare units and hybrid vehicles. Yes, the circular economy works. From all around Aotearoa to the 15 countries we export into. We recycle for reuse or remelt 9.46 tonnes of material for every 1 tonne of tCO2e we emit. Close to 10 times a climate positive advantage; to recover, accumulate, separate, process to over 100 specifications then transporting our secondary resources, rather than let them reside in landfills. We think this is one of the most interesting results to share from our FY23 audit.
