This past weekend, members of OCS' Philanthropy Club were honored to once again take part in Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery. With hearts full of gratitude, our small but mighty group laid wreaths on approximately 450 graves, paying tribute to our nation’s fallen heroes. Guided by the mission of Wreaths Across America to “Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom,” we paused to reflect on the immense sacrifices made to preserve our freedoms. We are profoundly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful tradition and humbled by the outpouring of support for this worthy mission. #arlingtonnationalcemetery #service #philanthropy #community #accounting

Queer Black Poet Audre Lorde states, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” There is great risk in not taking necessary rest. Chronic stress can spike cortisol levels and put us at risk of anxiety, depression, a lowered immune system, cognitive issues, heart problems, and gut issues (National Institute of Mental Health).
