2024 was pivotal because I decided to step down as a CTO at Scrimmage and, in 2025, devote all my energy to QuestEd - an agent-first gamified learning platform. So, I asked myself a question. If I knew I could build only one company in my life, what company would that be? What problem would it solve? The answer was on the ground, and it was - education. Okay, the wise move would be to go and talk to a dozen customers to find out about their problems. But, this time, I felt like I knew exactly what I was going to do. Four of five people I admire predict massive development in AI Agents in the following years. However, it hasn’t happened yet, and platforms that try to launch autonomous agents are doing it all wrong. They are trying to replicate the workflows of human professionals, but instead, we should gamify the job. Do you know what is the most complex system where AI is already much better than humans? Games. First, it was simple games like Chess (DeepBlue, 1997), Go (AlphaGo, 2016), and Shogi (AlphaZero). Then there were e-sport level games like StarCraft II (AlphaStar) and Dota 2 (OpenAI Five). If you play Dota, you can already meet AI Agents playing in the lobby, and you won’t even notice it. Here is my prediction for 2025. Next year, agents will play all kinds of games at the same level as humans, and there will be a massive hype about it. I wish good luck to anti-cheap system startups trying to solve this. Back to education. I truly believe AI won’t be able to replace teachers before AGI for a variety of organizational and safety concerns. However, gamifying education can allow AI agents to work equally with teachers already! Speed is crucial in a market where first-mover takes all, so I built QuestEd - an agent-first gamified learning platform.
