When it comes to panels, we have all heard the "What keeps you up at night?" question before. It's a favorite of moderators when speaking with directors and members of management teams. When answered, I always ask (in my head): "Well, what's your plan if it actually happens?" While having a plan for every thing that keeps us up at night isn't likely in the cards, this Cleary Gottlieb resource may prove to be a significant help. This is Cleary's fifth edition of its Global Crisis Management Handbook. Here are a few of the chapter titles: ◾ Managing the First Response ◾ Public Relations & Message Management ◾ Requests From Authorities and Common Issues in Responding ◾ Self Reporting ◾ Effective Compliance Programs ◾ Data Privacy ◾ Employee Rights and Privileges #crisis #corporategovernance #ir #communications #generalcounsel #riskmanagement

In this blog post, Elizabeth Gousse Ballotte from PKF O’Connor Davies, outlines how grantmaking organizations can create and implement these controls and better support their grantees.

Humpday Half-truth: "No news is good news" 🗞 Sometimes there's a disconnect between operational realities and what gets reported up to execs or the Board This condition exists for a variety of reasons...often driven by fear 🫣 ...and facilitated by excessive trust, pure busyness or a lack of good data... So...how to go about addressing it? * Trust but verify - Fully leverage internal audit, other assessments, and occasional deep-dives, as an improvement tool * Give people a voice - Create a psychologically safe environment and channels for folks to raise issues * Put your money where your mouth is - Invest in addressing prioritised issues raised from both sources * Use reporting is a comms tool - Ensure information is captured that would answer the real questions reliably Any other actions you'd add to this list? 👇 #Reporting
