All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 HCSB The Bible is our ultimate guide, inspired by God to teach, correct, and train us in righteousness. By immersing ourselves in Scripture, we become equipped for every good work, growing in faith and wisdom. Write God’s Word upon your heart, for it is your greatest defense against the enemy’s schemes; write the words of God upon your heart so that the devil does not stand a chance!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, [17] so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. "Growing in Righteousness" Scripture is one of the most important aspects of our Christian spirituality. God has chosen to speak to us through His Word. Rather than waiting around to hear the voice of God, we can turn to Scripture and hear God speaking to us. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 tells us first and foremost that Scripture is God-breathed. This means that it is inspired by God. This makes Scripture unlike any other book. God divinely inspired human authors to write these letters. More than that, Scripture has the power to radically change our lives if we read it and live it out. Paul tells us that Scripture is able to teach us, rebuke us, correct us, and train us in righteousness. All of these things are happening when we choose to engage in God’s Word. When we read God’s Word, we should be attentive to what God is communicating to us. He may want to correct some of our behavior, convict us of choosing our own way instead of His, or teach us something about Himself. All of these things are so that we can continue to live in a way that pleases God. As we read Scripture and do what it says, we grow in living righteously. We are also equipped for the good works that God wants us to do. Engaging with God’s Word is the primary way that God equips us for the life He planned for us. What ways can you continue to build a habit of reading God’s Word every day? Consider how you can better live out what God’s Word says so that you can grow in righteousness and accomplish all God wants for you.

In Luke 10:41–42, Jesus tells us the one thing that matters most: to sit at his feet and listen to his word. But for this to happen, each generation must be taught how to handle and teach the Bible well. That is why we run the associate scheme. Week 11 Transformation Challenge Scripture Reading James 1:19-20: “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Reflection How are we living up to the guidance the Lord is giving us to be a whole lot quicker to listen, and a lot slower to speak and get angry? When we follow God’s instructions in this matter, our relationships with others, including our relationship with God will begin to flourish. But, if you are anything like me, God forbid, these words bring conviction because we’re the exact opposite. But don’t despair and move away, instead let what the Lord is saying help motivate us to go deeper in and follow, realizing that God instructions are not meant to harm but to help and bring grace to our relationships. Prayer and Contemplation The challenge is to take this word, meditate upon it, and listen to God in what He is saying for your life through it. And then let the Holy Spirit help you to follow and walk in it.
