If you are not making yourself accountable...... 👇 You are holding yourself from performing at your best 😢. On the 1st Nov I launched a 30 day Challenge for individuals who wanted to feel MENTALLY and PHYSICALLY fitter by the end of Nov 💪🔥. The community has been so inspiring and we have already raised over £300 in the first week alone 🎉🎉 And to make this more meaningful, we did this to raise funds for 2 amazing charities Mind in Mid Herts and Stand-by-me Bereavement Support. And today, I wanted to share a few snippets of feedback from those taking part, to illustrate the importance of making yourself ACCOUNTABLE . If you have an employee/colleague from Rio Grande do Sul working this week, take it easy. No media can portray the sadness of seeing: your family, friends, acquaintances: all defeated. That weekend, an entire state lost: home, belongings, hopes and even family members. To reinforce the dimension: there is no family unscathed. The despair, the fear, the trauma. Friendly Tip: - No need to ask for much either - Give some space Each person will deal with this differently. But in the end, those who are there are left fighting for reconstruction; but all Brazilians are like that: sad. Helping our Colleagues in CA Southern California is facing widespread devastation as wildfires and high winds continue to destroy homes and threaten public safety. In response to this, the CDA Foundation has reactivated its disaster relief efforts andcreated a fund to support the safety, well-being and recovery of our dental community members. Beginning today, we have launched a link for individuals to donate to our disaster relief program, with an application for individuals to apply for funds that can be found here (https://lnkd.in/emJYj-a4) (CDA membership not required to apply for funds). Over the Christmas holidays, Alina Wardzala and her 70-year-old father were brutally murdered by her husband, leaving behind three young children in the care of their grandmother. This unimaginable loss has left a family devastated and children in urgent need of support. Marcie and I donated this morning to help provide for these children during this tough time. It is an epidemic that continues to claim lives, shatter families, and leave deep scars on survivors. As men, we have a responsibility to confront and dismantle the cultural and societal norms that enable domestic violence. This means holding ourselves and others accountable, promoting healthy relationships, and advocating for change. Policymakers also need to take this issue far more seriously. Strengthening support for survivors, increasing funding for prevention programs, and ensuring law enforcement and the justice system respond appropriately are critical steps to making a meaningful impact. (current restraining orders are an absolute joke and provide no protection to those trying to escape abusers) We owe it to families like Alina's to act urgently and compassionately. It's International Day of Charity and as a small charity we are passionate about making a BIG impact... Last year... 💓 1,300 local children, young people and their parents/carers benefitted from 1:1 bereavement counselling and/or group activities 💓 153 professionals and parents/carers benefitted from bereavement and loss training to better support 100's of locally bereaved families 💓 177 of telephone advice and guidance was provided 💓 100% of children and their families that accessed support felt they had benefitted We received only 3% of our income from statutory sources (this is not definite for future years and is only for our Bassetlaw service). The other 97% relies on donations from the community, corporates, and Trusts. Our events and challenges are a crucial part of these donations, raising the funds we need to continue to operate and support local children and their families during one of the most devastating times in their lives. As many of you know, I’ve been deeply involved in volunteering with a remarkable charity called Tenth Life in Varna, Bulgaria (https://tenthlife.bg/), that’s working tirelessly to address the severe issue of stray cats in the streets. These dedicated people are doing incredible work, treating the sick and finding them new homes, while having amazing success stories. However, there are so many stray cats in Varna that neutering them is the only to prevent suffering and control overpopulation. The situation is dire—many of these cats in the streets are suffering from preventable illnesses, and the only thing standing between them and a healthier life is a simple procedure that costs 30 euro. This charity is essentially operating single-handedly, and while they have the passion and the manpower, they urgently need financial support to continue this critical work. How You Can Help: 1) Donate 30 euro (60 lev) (or any amount you can) to fund a neutering procedure that will not only save a cat from suffering but also reduce the number of strays on the streets. 2) Spread the word by sharing this post and raising awareness of the issue. Held In Our Hearts baby loss counselling and support services are a lifeline for grieving families; providing a Hospital Home service, counselling, peer support, community support and resources to help families cope with their loss. However, these services rely heavily on charitable donations and diminishing grant funding, despite the growing need for them. By raising awareness and funds during Baby Loss Awareness Week, we can help ensure that these services remain free and are available to all who need them, for as long as they need them.
