Every company needs employees who possess technical expertise and essential soft skills. This is especially crucial for outstaffed tech teams. Here’s why:
◼️ Communication: Clear, effective communication reduces misunderstandings and creates a warm, collaborative atmosphere.
◼️ Teamwork: Strong teamwork skills create a sense of unity and ensure everyone is working towards common goals.
◼️ Problem-Solving: Critical and analytical thinking helps navigate challenges efficiently, driving projects forward.
Imagine a workplace where everyone has a great technical background but lacks communication and teamwork skills. This scenario often occurs in the outstaffing world. While professional abilities are essential, soft skills are even more crucial.
Developing these soft skills in outstaffed tech teams enhances individual performance and creates a collaborative workforce that can thrive in any project, driving overall company success.

Talented Newcomers bring fresh perspectives and creative ideas. They also boost team's problem-solving skills and are cost-effective with the potential to grow into skilled professionals.
With Experienced Professionals, the risk is lower as they have proven track records. They are engaged in business objectives and methods and also perform better, mitigating recruitment risks.
So, would you rather have a team of professionals or talented newcomers?

Improving the Organization Through Staff Retention and Acquisition
The availability and acquisition of highly qualified staff is top of mind for many school administrators. It’s a complex topic, so I plan to break down each of the following components over the coming weeks, sharing examples and strategies to address each one of the following:
1. Staff Retention
2. Hiring Practices
3. Onboarding
4. Setting Expectations
5. Feedback
6. Expanding the Applicant Pool
Expanding The Applicant Pool
In the “not too distant past” there existed a competitive hiring environment where a wealth of applicants with a variety of experiences, skills, and abilities filled our position openings. Today, a significant challenge is to find qualified applicants to compete for many of our open positions. There are ways to expand our applicant pool that are both short term solutions as well as long term solutions. They include:
1. Create internal systems that promote filling of positions.
2. Develop an outreach philosophy.
3. Identify who we are and what we are about.
For more detailed information on expanding the applicant pool as well as prior Blogs go to: www.teamworks4ed.com hover over "Resources" and click on "Blogs." You can also access the page by clicking on the following link:

🎯 **Week 4(b) of My VA Journey: Project Management Mastery!** 🎯
I delved into the fascinating world of project management, and it has been a game-changer! Here are the highlights:
🛠️ **Understanding Project Management:**
I learned what project management truly is and the importance of treating every task, no matter how small, as a project. Having a clear work plan or Gantt chart to list duties, categorize them, assign responsibility, and schedule them is crucial.
📊 **Work Plans and Gantt Charts:**
Creating a detailed work plan or Gantt chart helps visualize the project's timeline and ensures every task is accounted for. Organization is key!
🔍 **RACI Matrix:**
I discovered the RACI Matrix, a fantastic tool for clarifying roles and responsibilities within a project. Knowing who's Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed streamlines communication and boosts efficiency.
💡 **Exploring Project Management Tools:**
Apart from Google Spreadsheets, I explored tools like ClickUp, Asana, Trello, and Monday. I've personally tried ClickUp and Asana, and they are awesome! These tools make project management a breeze, offering features that keep everything on track.
🎯 **SMART Goals:**
I was reminded about the importance of SMART goals in project management. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound goals are the way to go!
📅 **Project Objective:**
As part of our assignment, my objective is to secure employment or a freelance contract by 31st October 2024. Incorporating SMART goals into my plan has set a clear and actionable path to achieve this.
Project management is a crucial skill for any VA, and I’m excited to apply these techniques to achieve my career goals. 🚀✨

Experienced practitioners understand the phases a participant can go through (and it’s not always linear), your role as a practitioner is to enhance your participant’s journey to employment.
That sounds broad, so consider this four-part structure: Engage, Explore, Enhance, Employ.
The first element, Engage, is about understanding the referral or how your participant has arrived at your service.
This is pivotal to gaining trust and a sense of partnership.

In a busy city, there was a cool company known for its great ideas and fun work environment. Sarah was in charge of finding awesome people to join their team. One project needed smart engineers, so Sarah picked Emily, who was super smart and great at solving problems.
But just before Emily could start, she said she couldn't because of personal stuff. Sarah was sad but didn't give up. She found Adam, who was also really good but wasn't picked before.
Even though it was a last-minute thing, Adam said yes. Together, they worked hard and did an amazing job on the project.
Afterward, Sarah realized that even though things didn't go as planned, it turned out great. She learned that sometimes unexpected changes can lead to good things. And thanks to people like Adam, the company kept growing and doing well.
