Microsoft partners applying for the Partner of the Year Award, no need to panic early in 2025—the nomination dates are shifting to summer months.
I’ve been writing partner award submissions for 10 years, and the awards portal was always open from the end of February to early-mid April. But not in 2025.
Microsoft decided to move the awards season for the first time in forever, and precise dates will be announced in the spring of 2025.
***
I see both positive and negative outcomes from these changes:
✅ More time to properly prepare and gather stronger customer outcomes, testimonials, and evidence.
✅ No need to juggle the labor-intensive preparation of the awards with getting ready for the spring season events.
❌ Fewer chances to chase customer quotes and approvals due to summer or mid-summer vacations.
❌ Challenges with organizing the award submission writing process, again, due to summer downtimes.
For my business, there are also pluses and minuses coming out of this date shift:
➕ It will be great to start 2025 by focusing more on the other parts of the business and my developing plans.
➖ The awards season will kill my 2025 summer vacation, which hits me hard.
(Hey, I’m Croatian, and summer vacays are serious business here.)

A small ask for all partners:
—> Please don’t completely forget about the awards now that the dates are moved. Here’s how you can still prepare:
👉 Get customer feedback, results, testimonials, and quotes—don’t wait until the end of June for this; it is typically the hardest thing to get at any time of the year!
👉 Get your case studies, press releases, and other third-party evidence out, showcasing the great results with your flagship solutions—you’ll need this for the entry.
👉 Get your specializations, designations, co-sell campaigns, and other evidence of your relationship with Microsoft in order—you’ll need this to tell your ‘’better together’ story.
