Something to think about
Graduate student (Master’s of Science in Organizational Psychology and Master’s of Business Administration), Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services LEO, crisis intervention specialist, group counselor
Today, I had the pleasure of randomly stumbling upon a mysterious group of about 30 people at the park. They had tons of clothing and other items sprawled out on tables, and there were also 2 young ladies giving haircuts - definitely not something I expected to see in the middle of the park on a day where it barely broke 40 degrees! Intrigued, I decided to introduce myself, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made recently. Of course, they saw the uniform and thought they were in trouble! However, it was wonderful to offer them the peace of mind that I was just genuinely curious as to what they were doing and why. Once I got to speaking with them, I learned that these kind folks are from a church out of Tazewell Co., VA, and their mission is to make the lives of those in need a little easier during this holiday season. They informed me that they got approval from the city to rent the park on the last Saturday of every month to distribute many provisions, such as clothing, bags/backpacks, miscellaneous supplies, and hopefully toiletries in the near future. If you know of anyone from the Bristol, VA area that could benefit from their generosity, please direct them to Cumberland Square Park in Bristol on the last Saturday of every month from around 11 a.m. to 3-4 p.m. so that they can get needed supplies - as well as a haircut! This church is also trying to work on getting approval to start serving meals as well. Any further information on that is to be announced for now. Thank you for your time, all your humbling stories of perseverance, and for your service.

When we are late, when we make a mistake, when we ask for help, how often do we say 'SORRY'? I am guilty of this!! So yours (and my) challenge today is to STOP 🛑 apologising, and START 🟢 thanking. The power of expressing gratitude can have many positive effects on our lives, including: 💚 Improved health and happiness: Research shows that being grateful can make people happier, reduce stress, and improve sleep. 💚 Better relationships: Grateful people are more likely to maintain good friendships. 💚 Increased resilience: Gratitude can help people cope with difficult situations and move forward with positivity. 💚 Improved work environment: A culture of gratitude can be essential for a healthy work environment. 💚 Increased self-confidence: Saying thank you can make people feel appreciated and boost their self-confidence. 💚 Increased likelihood of helping others: People who are thanked are more likely to help others, even if those others haven't thanked them. --- At Simpila Wellbeing we are passionate and dedicated to make a difference in the lives of all those that we have the pleasure to work with. THANK YOU for your amazing support. 💚

Ravi Garg my friend from, the Executive Leadership program by Rakesh Rana♟️ has posted a wonderful article on being grateful. I just wanted to add another point through #friendship to remain Grateful and practice gratitude. The circle of good friendship is so strong that one can only remain grateful throughout lifetime. It has immense power to amplify the positivity quotient surpassing all useless thoughts. To quote an example, a meetup of college Alumni after 2 decades evoked fun and painful events of adventurous college days. Surfing though these conversations an AAHA moment surfaced when one of us explained about his Forgive and Forget (that persona) practice to all unexpected, unpleasant events and people. The benefits of such experiences cannot be underestimated in a friend circle and I must remain grateful on this circle of everlasting strengths. Ask this to self, if I remain grateful to all those friends who have seen you, taken care of you, challenged you, referred to you to jobs, promotions, contacts for business growth, even help you get to your partner, list goes on... IF they wronged you, IF they don't respond, don't let your mind flushed up with doubts or grudges. Instead Forgive them and Disassociate the person from that #persona. We cannot know what was going through in their minds. But appreciate that human mind just "wants " thoughts" to be addressed and can take a shortcut to get that processing of thought. When you do this sort of gratitude practice, your mind shall choose to empty the unpleasant thoughts and help builds up a stringer the circle of control, impact and Influence. Its TRUST. And we can remain grateful for that in a lifetime. Thanks to Vishal Jain Krishna Prasad T G Gaurav Bansal Amit Pal for the friendship circle.

I met Premika Srichawla while living in Bangkok. Yes. I do remember the ice cream. That single product. I tried it. It was delicious. When someone steps forward towards a dream, even if that dream started as a far away idea, we should support it. Now Ekm6 is a reality. Well done. “Help the life of one person and you can help the community.” – Steven Sawalich #entrepreneurship #business #motivation #businessgrowth #networking
"If you had told me six years ago that today I would be spearheading a health-focused, plant-based community space, running a vegan restaurant and grocery store while raising my two boys, I would have thought you were crazy. It all began with a simple desire to create a dessert that my kids could enjoy. From selling ice cream at events, I started envisioning a space where plant-based living was the norm. Four years ago, the pieces began to fall into place. Dreams started to take shape, thanks to the incredible support of many talented individuals. With unwavering faith and dedicated manifestation, we held our heads high, believing in our vision—and we made it happen. Now, one year since our official opening as a retail space, we are thriving, with every corner occupied by wonderful vendors. We hope our journey inspires others embarking on their own ventures. It's never too late to pursue your dreams. Even when it feels impossible, never give up—believe in yourself." Don't get me wrong (what an annoying way to start a sentence) I love my work but being self employed is HARD. What people see - delivering a range of different topics, to different groups of people across the country - getting to pick who I work for and when - choosing my price and asking for it. 4 years in, this isn't always accurate. What the reality often is: - saying yes to all work because I'm are terrified of it drying up - scrabbling around to pay bills because people don't pay invoices on time or because no one books you over the summer/Christmas - taking work at a lower rate because I have to work and what if noone else books me at my actual rate - no sick pay - no holiday pay (so no holiday for the kids) ✅️ Reach out to your self-employed network and check they are OK! ✅️Don't assume that their presentation on social media represents their wellbeing ✅️Give them time to offload (they don't always have colleagues they can talk to) ✅️Share their posts and share their work, we rely on word of mouth! Thank you to people who do listen to me moan regularly Sascha Evans Sarah Morgan Kasia Krotki Mandi Szuplewski

Along with tons of other people, coming back from vacation last weekend officially ended with being delayed/cancelled at an airport all weekend. My wife and I had our 3 kids with us, aged 4, 2, and 4 months to add to the fun. We got delayed, then cancelled, waited 2 days to fly home, that flight got delayed, and then when we eventually got on all of us were sitting in different seats in different parts of the plane (hilarious thing to try and explain to a 2 year old, meanwhile my 4 year old loved it). Every step of trying to get home from a technology standpoint was a mess. The one thing that really helped get us through? How incredibly nice and understanding people were to us. Every time something happened, some random person would offer to put luggage on the ramp, make my son laugh, give us a place to sit, give my daughter a glass of water...etc. It was such a reminder that in a world of constant tech/AI, it's the people that still make all the difference. I don't know who any of the people are that helped power us home, but thank you for being you. Reminder: Most people genuinely care about the well-being of other people.

hey everyone " today I'd like to talk about the often overlooked but incredibly important factor in our daily lives: humidity. Humidity plays a significant role in our comfort, health, and even the structural integrity of our buildings. As we all know, high humidity can make hot temperatures feel even more unbearable, while low humidity can lead to dry skin and respiratory issues. Finding the right balance is crucial for our well-being. Moreover, humidity can impact our surroundings as well. Excess moisture in the air can cause mold and mildew to grow, leading to potential health hazards and damage to our homes. In industries such as agriculture and manufacturing, humidity control is essential for preserving products and ensuring high-quality output. Therefore, it is important for us to be mindful of humidity levels, both indoors and outdoors, and to take steps to manage them effectively. Let's work together to create environments that are not only comfortable and healthy, but also conducive to productivity and well-being for all. Thank you." Shalyavi Dwivedi 🍁🍂

I haven’t been on LinkedIn much lately. I’ve been taking some much-needed time for myself after a challenging period. In the span of 11 months in 2023, I was involved in two major car accidents and underwent a hysterectomy surgery. These events left me with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spine injuries, and a lot of mental health issues. Throughout 2023, I kept pushing through, convinced that I was okay. But as 2024 began, I realized I was in denial about the extent of my struggles. It became clear that I needed to step back and focus on my healing and recovery. During this time, my amazing team stepped in to take over. Their kindness, compassion, and understanding reminded me of the incredible power of community. They didn’t just fill in for me—they provided me with the time and space I needed to heal. Their small acts of support made a significant impact on my journey to recovery. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned from this experience: 1. Acknowledging Vulnerability: It's okay to admit when we are not okay. Recognizing our own struggles is the first step towards healing. 2. The Power of Community: We often underestimate the strength we draw from those around us. My team’s support has been a testament to how collective compassion can help us through tough times. 3. Self-Care is Essential: Taking time to heal, both physically and mentally, is crucial. It’s not a sign of weakness but a necessary part of recovery. 4. Gratitude: I am incredibly grateful for my team. Their unwavering support has shown me the importance of having a strong, caring network. To anyone going through a tough time, remember that it’s okay to take a step back and focus on yourself. Reach out to your community and lean on them when needed. We are stronger together. Thank you to everyone, especially my tribe Mehraj Sofi, Varsha Kaushal, and Keval Savani, who have supported me through this journey. Your kindness has made all the difference. This is to coming back, slowly 🤍

Yes, this isn’t your standard Linkedin post, but if this could help someone else take the right step towards better living, then mission accomplished! I did it. I achieved the goal I had set for myself: 10% body fat by 50. I’ve always been an active, athletic person, but with age came new restraints, and my body made sure to inform me of my new limitations. It was disheartening to say the least… no more 10Ks, no more rigorous exercise, it was over. Or so I thought. Through my research into wellness and longevity, I stumbled upon the wonderful Harjit Bahia and her company LONGEVITY, who helped me recapture the vitality that I mistakenly thought I’d lost. By focusing on multiple pillars of longevity, including nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, and community, I was able to get back in the driver’s seat. This isn’t a bragging post, nor is it an ad per se. It’s a thank you letter to the brilliant team at LONGEVITY and Harjit Bahia, the latter whom I will be working with on my next venture: ZOI. Our objective? To establish a data-driven, informed, monitored and measured approach to health, leveraging the latest technology, and empowering people to become the CEOs of their own health. We’re excited to bring this to all of you!
