Towards IPOS (International Platform for Ocean Sustainability)’s Post

🌊 Advancing Ocean Sustainability at the 3rd CAS-EurASc Frontier Forum 🌍 On November 19, 2024, our co-lead Tanya Brodie Rudolph presented the concept of #Towards_IPOS at the 3rd CAS-EurASc Frontier Forum on Marine Science and Technology, held in a hybrid format. Organised by the EurASc European Academy of Sciences and the Earth Sciences Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Forum brought together leading marine scientists and engineers from Europe and China to share knowledge and foster collaboration. Tanya highlighted the significant strides Towards IPOS has made, including: 1️⃣ A demand-driven focus: Responding directly to requests from States to support achieving ocean sustainability targets, such as SDG 14 and the 30x30 Global Biodiversity Framework target. 2️⃣ A commitment to inclusivity and embedding systems thinking as some of the key best practices to address the unique contexts of requesting States. A heartfelt thanks to EurASc and CAS for creating this invaluable platform to advance international collaboration in marine science and sustainability.🔬 We look forward to collaborations at the upcoming UN Ocean Conference in 2025 in Nice, France 🌍 Ocean Sustainability Foundation Ramboll Management Consulting ACTeon environment Forschungsinstitut für Nachhaltigkeit (RIFS) Fresh Thoughts Consulting GmbH European Marine Board IVZW REVOLVE Fondation CNRS One Ocean Science Congress Paul Tréguer #OceanSustainability #MarineScience #UNDecadeOfOceanScience #SDG14
