🌱Exciting Opportunities in Central Asia's Growing Market for Producers from #Egypt and #Morocco! Central Asia is a dynamic region experiencing remarkable growth in both economy and population. Despite this, it often goes unnoticed by produce traders. With a population comparable to Germany's and a landmass larger than India, Central Asia has seen a significant increase in fresh orange imports in the past five years. Uzbekistan, the world's largest importer of ware potatoes, is witnessing a surge in demand for mandarins, berries, palm dates, avocadoes, mangoes, and more, as incomes rise rapidly. Kazakhstan, the top net importer of fruits and vegetables in the region, boasts the highest per-capita income among former Soviet republics. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's export market differs notably from Egypt and Morocco, where Egypt has emerged as a key supplier of oranges in the region. To explore these opportunities, the FAO/EBRD Team is facilitating B2B meetings with leading importers and supermarket chain representatives in Uzbekistan and potentially Kazakhstan. Participants will receive comprehensive market insights and have the chance to visit produce traders' facilities and a wholesale market near Tashkent, the capital city. Don't miss out on the chance to tap into the thriving produce market of Central Asia! 🌱🌍 #CentralAsia #FreshProduce #MarketOpportunities #FAO #EBRD #Uzbekistan #Morocco #Egypt #TradeRelations EastFruit

Rice export involves the transportation of rice from producing countries to various destinations worldwide. Once exported, rice is distributed through various channels to reach shops and consumers overseas. Distribution typically involves wholesalers, importers, and retailers who facilitate the movement of rice from ports or warehouses to local markets and shops. This process often includes logistics such as storage, transportation, and handling to ensure the rice arrives in good condition. Overseas, rice is commonly sold in supermarkets, specialty food stores, and local markets, where it becomes available to consumers for purchase and consumption. #riceexport #IR64ParboiledRice #SaudiArabia #UAE #Africa

Why Dragonfruit prices in Vietnam increase? Mr. Ho Nam, a trader in Binh Thuan, said "This year’s intense heat and drought have caused many orchards to dry out and trees to die, causing output to drop by 20-30%." General secretary of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association - Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, said between December and May China imports more dragon fruits to meet its demand, and so prices rise during this period. Therefore, prices continuously go up. Another reason for the rising prices is that less dragon fruit is being grown in Vietnam after farmers switched to other crops such as durian and jackfruit in 2023 when prices fell sharply. However, Mr. Nguyen also noted that from June to November, China will be in harvest season, so dragon fruit prices may decrease again. Currently, in addition to the Chinese market, Vietnamese dragon fruit is also exported to many other markets such as UAE, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea... Dragon fruit is one of the fruits that contributes a large market share to Vietnamese fruits and vegetables. In the years before Covid-19, each year export revenue from this fruit reached more than billion USD. However, since Covid-19 until now, China's cultivation has caused the export value to decline sharply, falling out of the "billion dollar club". Data from customs shows dragon fruit exports in the first two months of this year increased by nearly 10% year-on-year to $117 million. Major markets included China, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea. We always commit to providing the best products for our customers. In the vibrant and bustling Al Aweer Fruits and Vegetables Market, Indian green chilli stands as a staple, cherished for its rich flavor and versatility. However, in recent times, the market has experienced a noticeable shortage of this essential commodity. As demand continues to surge, some innovative importers have turned to air freight to bridge the gap, ensuring a steady supply and fetching commendable prices. The current shortfall highlights the intricate balance of demand and supply that drives the market dynamics for fruits and vegetables. When a key item like Indian green chilli becomes scarce, the entire market feels the ripple effects. Prices tend to rise due to the heightened demand, encouraging importers to seek alternative methods to fulfill market needs, such as air shipping, despite the higher costs involved. This proactive approach not only stabilizes the supply but also ensures that the quality of the produce remains uncompromised, meeting the expectations of discerning consumers. It's a classic example of how market participants adapt to fluctuations, leveraging logistics and supply chain innovations to maintain equilibrium. Moreover, the situation underscores the importance of strategic planning and responsiveness in the fruits and vegetables market. By closely monitoring trends and anticipating shortages, importers and traders can swiftly adapt, ensuring that supply disruptions are minimized, and market stability is maintained. The current scenario with Indian green chilli at Al Aweer is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of the market players, who consistently rise to the challenge, ensuring that our tables remain bountiful. #Agriculture #SupplyChain #MarketDynamics #IndianGreenChilli #ImportExport #FoodSupply #AlAweerMarket #Logistics #DemandAndSupply #ProduceMarket #Agribusiness #FreshProduce #AirFreight #MarketTrends
