At Mullarkey Associates Water Treatment, we’re committed to staying at the forefront of water quality and safety. A recent study identified chloronitramide, a by-product of some chloramine-treated water systems. While this discovery highlights areas for improvement throughout the industry, it also underscores the continual dedication to research and innovation. Chloramine-treated systems already produce fewer harmful by-products than traditional chlorine treatments, and this finding gives the industry an opportunity to further refine processes. Experts reassure us that tap water remains safe to drink, and we’re proud to work with leading manufacturers to ensure even higher standards for water quality. Together, let’s make every drop safer and cleaner. 💧 #WaterTreatment #CleanWater #InnovationForSafety

HOW WE DID IT – Working with the South Tahoe Public Utility District who had 13 of 34 drinking water supply wells contaminated with MTBE and/or TBA, our HiPOx system became the first AOP system approved and permitted by the California Department of Health Services (DHS) to eliminate MTBE contamination in drinking water. The District had adopted a zero-tolerance policy shutting down all contaminated wells but with an 800 GPM HiPOx system and a 1000-1500 GPM system installed, affected wells were brought back online delivering MTBE-free drinking water once again to the South Lake Tahoe community. Check out further details at https://lnkd.in/gn3-s59J And be sure to tell us about your contaminated drinking water supply well challenges on our zero-commitment web form!... https://lnkd.in/dxvC5yfr #water #waterindustry #waterchallenges #watersector #waterquality #groundwater #drinkingwater #processwater #watermanagement #watertreatment #wastewater #wastewatertreatment #watersystems #environmentalremediation #remediation #emergingcontaminant #dioxane #PFAS #foreverchemical #nitrate #chemicaloxidation #sustainability #environmentalcompliance #potablewater #waterreuse

Did you know that, on average, drinking water utilities lose about 14% of treated water due to leaks and pipeline issues before it even reaches the tap? That’s a significant amount of water! Implementing proactive maintenance and regular leak detection can help save millions of gallons each year, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in water distribution. #WaterFacts #NCWOA #EfficientUtilities #SustainableWaterManagement

The EPA today released a report on septic tank inspections by local authorities in 2023. Local authorities completed 1,189 septic tank inspections, targeted near rivers and household drinking water wells most at risk of contamination by faulty septic tanks. 45% of septic tanks failed inspection. It is critically important that householders fix septic tanks that fail inspection as such failures have the potential to be a risk to human health and the environment. Grants for fixing septic tanks have increased from €5,000 to €12,000. The report also highlights that enforcement by local authorities is inconsistent and needs to improve. Stringent government regulations in terms of the appropriate use of onsite #wastewater treatment systems (OWTS) and the increasing prevalence of waterborne diseases are becoming major factors driving the market growth globally. The higher awareness towards non-compliance with the laws or exceeding the levels further leads to penalties and favorable regulations regarding water treatments in the developed regions. #watertreatment #waterindustry
