I got hit by a balloon! Last week, I visited New York and had the chance to explore some of its iconic skyscrapers. While The Edge offered a fantastic open-air space with beautiful views and great lounge music, it was The Summit that really caught my attention. What made it stand out? Simple party balloons. Yes, you read that right! They created an entire floor filled with regular balloons, and yet, for my daughter, it was the ultimate photo opportunity—the perfect Instagram pic. This made me think about the importance of creating unique and memorable experiences within tourism products. In today’s world, it’s not just about the destination, but about how you make visitors feel, what you give them to share, and the moments they remember. We say that over and over, but here is the proof. User-Generated Content (UGC) plays a powerful role in modern tourism. Simple elements, like balloons in The Summit, can create impactful experiences that guests love to capture and share. As tourism professionals, it’s key to integrate these moments that elevate experiences beyond just sightseeing.
