It's inspiring to witness athletes like #CameronNorrie leading the charge in addressing climate change, ensuring the sustainability of sports in the face of environmental challenges. Additionally, the transition of sports grounds towards implementing carbon sink practices marks a positive shift, demonstrating proactive efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental stewardship. Furthermore, there's an exciting opportunity for corporate sponsorship to align with sustainability goals by supporting sporting initiatives that remove CO2e emissions and provide biodiversity gain associated with sports events. This not only benefits the environment but also enhances the reputation of both the corporations and the sports organizations involved, setting a commendable example for other industries to follow suit in combatting climate change.
🎾ICYMI: 5x ATP Tour Titleist, Cameron Norrie, has offset all 28 tournament trips in 2023 🗣️ “I try my best now to reduce my carbon footprint where I can, from cycling everywhere to taking the train when possible” he says 🏆 Norrie finished third on the Carbon Tracker leaderboard and donated $20,000 to Sported, a charity for sustainability initiatives at grassroots clubs and other young communities in the UK 🔖 Read: : https://lnkd.in/erd7GZNb #sportpositive #greensports #sportsforclimateaction #ATPTour #tennis

Enthuse’s ‘Rising To The Challenge’ Report - 10 mass participation insights for sponsors The Covid-19 era aside, mass participation events have always held a strong appeal for sponsors. A great way to cut through the clutter of competition, they act as a gateway to multiple media touch points, diverse activation opportunities and powerful community/charitable partnerships – all at a reasonable price. They are also diverse in character, with a broad array of rights holders offering mass participation events across running, walking, cycling, swimming and adventure courses to name a few. This rich range of activities makes it possible to reach elusive and affluent segments of the population – while it also provides an ideal opportunity to build authentic interactions with employees. One of the most interesting dimensions of mass participation events is their close connection with charities, with a significant number of participants raising large sums of money for their chosen charities across the year.

The best thing about donating to a charitable cause is that.... you donate and make a difference. Sometimes you may think that if I do not donate X amount, it's not worth it or what will people think. On the other hand, in times like the present one, where a large section of the population in most parts of the world, is bearing the burnt of constantly high prices, one may feel the need to not spend much on anything that is perceived to be necessary. Well, in times like these the charitable causes need our support the most. And guess what, every #donation, no matter how small it is, counts. This is where power of community comes to work. For example, I am running in this year's #tcslondonmarathon for raising £ 2000 for Get Kids Going!, a UK based #charity, inspiring differently abled youngsters to compete in sporting events, from start to paralympic level providing them full support. As of today, I have managed to raise £ 562. I have four more weeks to complete the goal. So, - if 1438 of my 6615 #LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 1 each - if 719 of my 1200 #UK based LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 2 each - if 480 of my 1000 #London based LinkedIn connections choose to donate £ 3 each I will reach my target. Sharing below the link to donate to my cause, with great hope:

Make the most of a sports-filled summer - an important read we wanted to share from our charity partners over at CHECT! Why not make the most of this year’s sport-filled summer and raise funds for CHECT? Here are just a few ideas on the different ways you can leverage some of the major sporting events this summer like the Euros, Olympics and Paralympics to create exciting and engaging fundraising opportunities: Host live viewing events – organise viewing parties for the Euros, Olympics and Paralympics. Charge an entry fee which could include a meal, or sell refreshments at a local venue. Sweepstakes – sell tickets for a sweepstakes where participants draw teams or athletes and raise funds for CHECT. Sports days – host a mini-Olympics day with a variety of sports and activities for all ages or organise a 5-a-side football tournament themed around the Euros. For more ideas or more ways you can get involved, we highly encourage you to contact the CHECT fundraising team at fundraising@chect.org.uk #CHECT #charitypartner #childhoodcancerawarenessmonth #childhoodeyecancertrust

At One Impossible Thing we want to break down barriers that impede people from participating in sport. Redistributing preloved sports shoes to those who struggle to afford them, is our main way of doing this. But we also know that sometimes motivation is a barrier from getting out there and being active. Which is why we're involved in organising the Boxmoor Virtual Marathon! The idea is to run, bike, scoot, walk, swim or wheel your way through the 26 miles/42kms, over a ten week period. In this Olympic year, the virtual marathon starts when the Olympic Flame arrives in France on 8th May. You have until mid July to complete your marathon, so you can have your finishers medal in time for the Olympic Opening Ceremony! It’s a great challenge for families, who can get out together on their bikes or on a walk together. If you do 5kms each week, you’ll have completed your marathon by July, with time to spare! All money raised through sponsorship will ensure we can carry on with all the work we do with schools, homeless charities, refugees groups and school holiday activity camps. Once registered, you can ask families and friends to sponsor you. If you ask 10 people for £10, that’s £100 you’ve raised! For more information and to register, click on the link: https://lnkd.in/d8aYqCTG #fundraisingchallenge #motivation #sportforall

Please support Simon undertaking this challenge 👏👇👇👇In aid of RNID #hearing #audpeeps #RNID #hearingimplants #audiology #otology #ent
Over the next few months I’ll be doing a fair few races - namely a 124km bike race, a triathlon, and two half marathons (one road and one trail). I’ve chosen to support the charity, the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID). It all starts tomorrow and finishes on the 10th of November. Wish me luck. #RNID
