Historically both at 3P and elsewhere, I have found it almost impossible to sell the ‘service’ that is custom automation at big trade shows like #Interphex. Most visitors want to see ‘the machine’. So you might ask why we are at Interphex this week and then Achema in June? What personally excites me is where we have taken 3P to over recent years. We now have a large and expanding range of 3P pharma equipment. Over the last 5 years or so we have invested significantly to build a range of high end benchtop and commercial #powder and #liquid #fillfinish equipment and associated isolators. What is automation? Each of you could easily answer this question, but the details would probably vary greatly. No wonder: automation spans many areas, as we also discussed at our last automatica advisory board meeting two weeks ago. For those unfamiliar, #automatica is the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics. As automation encompasses many different facets, one focus of the trade show will be a more thorough representation of “niche” areas for the automation industry like medical technology and construction. That is a good thing. If companies want to survive in our global and highly technical world, they can't get around automation. And this is true across industries. At IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH, broadening our approach to automation is also key. Therefore, we are continuously and strategically opening up new markets. From pest control in vineyards to intelligent waste management and medical diagnostics – it is truly exciting to see the wide range of projects that our sales team is getting off the ground, all showcasing the endless possibilities of automation based on cameras. #IDShasVision So what is automation?
