🚨 We have today published our seventh annual report on the BBC. The BBC remains the most-used UK media brand across TV, radio and online. And our report finds it is generally delivering well against its remit for viewers and listeners. However, there are still areas for improvement. The BBC is still struggling to reach all audiences – for example, those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. We want it to be clearer about its overarching plans for increasing levels of satisfaction with the BBC among this group and, more broadly, how it is evaluating initiatives to better reach less satisfied or lighter users such as younger people. Find out more about how the BBC has performed 🔗 https://lnkd.in/espEe_tk

The Message and the Broadcaster. Last week, my head of programs was on the Evening drive shift and asked that I stand in for her. This is something we do as broadcasters, take the place of another if they will be unavailable. Her major program on that shift is a political show called "Prime Time". I had a good outing and stayed back for the Night show which I anchored primarily. After the shows that day, I paused, thinking through how I switched tones, moods and personality broadcasting that day. Every Program has its style, mood and tone and following these, ensures the success of the program. of course, you have to prepare for your programs, but the messenger must sound the part. What time on the radio broadcast your favourite programs? #explore #voice #communicate

Want to get your care home showcased on regional BBC or ITV? One the most important contacts to pitch your stories to is someone from the “planning department” or the news editor at the TV station. These people are responsible for planning the week or month ahead. So cultivate a positive relationship with them! How have you secured positive TV coverage for your care homes?

Quick broadcast PR tip: please watch the show that you're pitching. You don't have to watch it religiously, but maybe once a week so you know what kind of thing is being covered. Producers do sometimes wonder why PRs would want their clients on a television programme they themselves don't tune into. For example, being asked when the show is on air, or getting the name of the show wrong (the one I work on is Business Live with Ian King), just displays a lack of interest in the work we do - and isn't a massive incentive to take the interview. From what I can tell, this basic info is available on Roxhill. Apologies for the rant, but this has become a very frequently committed error.

A marvelous example of a start-up/new business model with the ability to disrupt the industry in its field of play. Its great to see this team shaking the status quo and the written. Well done Álvaro and team #hello.app #disrupt #newbusinessmodel #startup
Yesterday I appeared on Espejo Público with Susanna Griso. The full "interview" (turned into a feminism debate) lasts about 20 minutes during prime time on National television, you can find it easily on YT or anywhere in the internet. In these highlights, fun starts at 1:27 ... Antena 3 #tv #news #noticias #espejopublico #antena3

We are an incredibly creative industry, but when it comes to solving our own inherent problems we seem to be woefully lacking in creativity.... The use of new technology and workflows to reduce costs and increase creative options - such as Virtual Production - exists now, however the problem I witness is that (as alluded to in the article) a risk-averse attitude is permeating the whole industry, and so embracing new technologies is typically met with great reservation, or just point blank refusal to change. We need to change. For many it's too late, they've moved on, but for the rest of us out there - be bold and embrace new technologies. It may be the only way to get us out of this.
