As our world evolves, so does our understanding of how climate conditions influence our lives. Design is no longer just about aesthetics; it’s about creating spaces that harmonize with nature, ensure thermal comfort, and promote inclusivity. By embracing sustainable practices, we’re not only adapting to environmental changes but also pioneering solutions that prioritize human well-being and resilience. Beautiful, sustainable designs are more than structures—they are declarations of our commitment to a better future, where innovation meets empathy, and progress meets preservation. WOW! 🎉 We are so proud to share that Living Places Copenhagen has won the prestigious Danish Design Award 2024! This year, the award marked a new chapter in its history by moving away from fixed categories and focusing on solutions that challenge traditional boundaries. Judging was based on five core values: Do no harm, Pursue beauty, Lead the way, Prove your impact and Solve problems worth solving. Living Places Copenhagen was highlighted by the jury as a project that combines beautiful design with a low carbon footprint, healthy indoor environments and a whole new approach to how we live together. ✅ Do no harm – Actions for a better world; prototyping with materials and technologies available today. ✅ Pursue beauty – Beautiful in every meaning of the word – good design matters to us as humans, spaces, materials, and light. ✅ Lead the way – Pioneering positive change – one experiment is better than a thousand expert assumptions. ✅ Prove your impact – Undeniable and easily understandable – open source, sharing knowledge with the industry. ✅ Solve problems worth solving – Identifying what to solve – 3x lower CO2 footprint, 3x better indoor climate. Big congratulations to our partners EFFEKT, Artelia Denmark and Enemærke & Petersen a/s! To learn more about Living Places see the link in comments 👇

"Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future." – Robert L. Peters This speaks to the powerful role that innovative design plays in influencing and reflecting societal norms. As design shapes the environments we live in, it cultivates cultural values that, in turn, guide our future growth and development. Designers play a crucial role in crafting spaces that reflect and shape cultural norms, fostering community, sustainability, and innovation, ultimately driving progress toward a better future for all. #DesignInfluence #InnovativeDesign #SocietalNorms #CulturalShifts #ArchitecturalDesign #InteriorDesign #DesignImpact #FutureDesign #DesignValues #CommunityDesign #SustainableDesign #DesignInspiration #DesignForTheFuture

The evolution of smart cities is intrinsically linked to the harmony between visual appeal and functionality. Aesthetic enhancements like outdoor LED displays redefine urban landscapes, making them not only iconic but also integral to efficient living. As we forge ahead, the cities that thrive will be those that embrace innovative design principles. Ignoring this shift risks relegating us to outdated paradigms—an unthinkable fate for leaders in our industry.

What is Inclusive Design? I was privileged to participate in the conversation in the May gb&d magazine which featured many perspectives on inclusive design, including references to technology interfaces, consumer products, architecture and the built environment, design implementation, physical access, wayfinding, assistive technology, emotional health, inclusive spaces, employee training, and built examples. The article emphasizes...... "In an age where thoughtfulness seems largely absent from the technologies, products, and environments we interact with on a daily basis, inclusive design provides a breath of fresh air for everyone involved." It's a good read! https://lnkd.in/ghHXR-fW
