The North Adelaide Football Club is proud to announce a partnership with The Port Augusta City Council with the new NAFC Regional Academy. The Regional Academy has been created to ensure that our Country zoned athletes have equal access to development opportunities without the necessity of traveling to Adelaide, which can put significant strain on support networks, education, and local businesses. We believe that establishing the Academy could save our regional athletes and their families a remarkable total of 15,360 hours in travel time. "Port Augusta City Council is proud to support the North Adelaide Football Club’s Regional Academy, creating pathways for regional athletes to excel and reach their full potential." The Academy will conduct training at three of our Regional Centres, rotating among Port Augusta, Port Pirie, and Whyalla. Thanks for the support The Port Augusta City Council.

Amp Your Content Ltd were in Northern Ireland recently helping Fuse PR tell the story of the Chase football coaching programme, with NI senior women's star Simone Magill. National team captain Magill surprised her brother Kris – who has been with the Cookstown-based club from a young age – as he led an under-8 girls’ session, before the pair reflected on the amazing impact he’s had on her and many others in the local community. The reunion comes after Chase and the Home Nations Football Associations teamed up to create the Chase football coaching programme – which provides fully funded access to 2,900 introductory coaching qualifications and 85 professional coaching bursaries to support individuals from low-income backgrounds across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. In providing access to fully funded coaching qualifications, Chase is helping more people from low-income communities unlock their potential, increasing representation in coaching to inspire future generations, and helping to build pathways towards future employment.

𝐀 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝'𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡  The announcement this week that Brentford Football Club's academy has been awarded Category 2 status, it brought me back to this brilliant interview between Training Ground Guru & Stephen Torpey - shared earlier this month. (Link in the comments - it's a great read!) The 'blank canvas' nature of this project hasn't happened before, and is unlikely to happen again, especially at the rate that Brentford are supercharging their academy. In my opinion, three of the key benefits of this is: 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡 They can design the academy exactly how they want it. Such as merging age groups and having an aligned coaching methodology across the academy with an emphasis on technical skills before tactics. 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: They are free to experiment and incorporate new ideas. Category 1 is the ultimate goal, but being at Cat 4 (and now Cat 2) there is more freedom to try new technologies, ideas and staffing structures. 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲: They can build their own culture and brand from the ground up. They can have a values-led recruitment strategy, for both players and staff, from the offset. I'm looking forward to seeing how far and fast Brentford will go - and whether they'll be disrupting the London Cat 1 academy scene in the not-too-distant future!
