Last few hours to donate on Giving Tuesday! OJPC's client Anna experienced much trauma in her life due to mental illness in her family and negative influences of people around her. Anna was introduced to drugs and became addicted, and then to prostitution. Once she committed to sobriety and was able to see beyond her past and look to her future, Anna reached out to OJPC. With help from the Second Chance team at OJPC, Anna's records have been expunged under Ohio's safe harbor expungement law. Anna has been sober now for six years and has a job she loves, a job which was otherwise unattainable with her record. Consider donating to OJPC on Giving Tuesday to help us continue to provide legal services to individuals like Anna who have been victims of human trafficking and are so much more than their trauma. https://lnkd.in/gTJYprfB

🌟This #GivingTuesday We Can Help Wisconsinites Find Justice 🌟 Imagine being trapped with an abusive spouse in your remote rural home. For years, "Clara's" husband isolated her, abused her, and threatened her with death if she were to leave him. It was #CivilLegalAid that helped Clara finally divorce her abuser, reclaim her assets, and rebuild her life. We hear many stories like this from the organizations we fund. (Though "Clara" isn't her real name, this woman is a real, very recent client of one of our grant recipients.) Right now, critical federal funding for civil legal aid in Wisconsin is disappearing. **Your donation can change lives.** The Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation (WisTAF) connects people facing life-altering legal challenges with the professional help they need to seek fair solutions. Every contribution helps someone: - Escape domestic violence… - Secure their children’s safety… - Address obstacles to getting employed … - Or in other ways, protect their rights & rebuild their future Give today and be a lifeline for someone in need. Donate now: https://lnkd.in/gUPGvpZf Together, we can ensure NO ONE in Wisconsin faces injustice alone. #AccessToJustice #GivingTuesday #WisconsinCares #SocialJustice #CommunitySupport #CivilLegalAid #LegalAid

Access to Justice must be a Right, Not a Privilege ⚖️ For survivors of gender-based violence, the journey of fighting for their rights is both courageous and challenging. It’s a path filled with obstacles—emotional, social, and financial. At NyaayDarshak, we believe that no one should have to walk this road alone, and no one should be denied justice simply because they cannot afford it. Therefore, we provide essential legal support to survivors, ensuring they have the tools and guidance to stand up against abuse. But we can’t do this alone. Your donation can make a real difference. By contributing, you help us provide free legal aid, counseling, and support services to those who need it most. Every contribution, big or small, empowers a survivor to stand up for their rights. Our survivors are individuals who may not have the means to hire expensive lawyers, but that doesn’t mean they should be denied the legal support they deserve. Justice shouldn’t be a privilege reserved for a few; it should be accessible to all. We believe that until every survivor can fight for their rights, none of us are truly free from the cycle of violence. Join us in ensuring that justice is within everyone's reach. Donate today and be a part of the change. Link: https://lnkd.in/g5AwVeVY #JusticeForAll #SupportSurvivors #EndGenderViolence #DonateNow

Our Court Advocates provide vital support to survivors navigating the legal system. Without guidance, the complexities of court proceedings can be overwhelming and intimidating, leaving many survivors feeling lost and vulnerable. The cost of not having someone at the courthouse to assist these brave individuals is immense. Survivors may miss crucial opportunities for protection, face increased risks, and struggle to advocate for themselves in a system that can be difficult to navigate alone. Consider sponsoring a survivor by donating, today. Your donation ensures that we can continue providing court advocacy, free of charge, so that survivors have someone in their corner helping them along the way. Your support is essential. By contributing to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia, you help ensure that every survivor has access to the legal advocacy they need to pursue justice and reclaim their lives. Let’s work together to create a safer, more supportive environment for those affected by domestic violence. https://lnkd.in/giFUr5D5 #HealingHappensHere #31derfulways #CCSSEndDomesticViolence #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth

We're incredibly proud to be partnered with Nexus and the DSA Helpline to support older victim-survivors in Northern Ireland. With over 100,000 older people in Northern Ireland experiencing abuse, we're glad to have developed this important partnership to tackle this abuse. Veronica Gray, Deputy CEO of Hourglass said: "Our own research tells us that the abuse and neglect of older people is on the rise. Without specialist services, older people will continue to suffer in silence, hence this unique partnership with the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Helpline." I recently joined the board of the National Guardianship Liberty Movement non-profit organization with Founder: Julie Belshe #NGLM is diligently working behind the scenes to bring justice to as many people as possible, save lives, and alleviate the suffering of those who have endured for far too long. We don’t just talk about making a difference; we are actively doing it. Each of us has our own story about fighting for a loved one, but together, we stand united. We support one another, hoping that others will not have to suffer as we have. Our website is coming soon, and we eagerly anticipate partnering with the community nationwide. As we observe Elder Abuse Awareness Month this June, it’s essential to emphasize that elder abuse is a crime. The National Guardianship Liberty Movement is dedicated to protecting the elderly from the tragic abuses of guardianships and seeking justice for those affected. We need your help and support. No effort is too small—liking a post, making a comment, sharing, donating, or volunteering with your time, resources, or money can make a significant impact. Together, we can make a difference. For media requests, volunteer opportunities, or if you or a loved one needs support; email: NationalGuardianshipLiberty@aol.com Together, as voices for the voiceless, we can make a difference! #ElderAbuseAwareness #GuardianshipReform #JusticeForElders #EndElderAbuse #SupportNGLM #ElderJustice #CommunitySupport

Invaluable advice for Myriad families and carers.
This morning, Michelle Abbott LL.B TEP and I had the pleasure of speaking at The Myriad Centre, a charity supported by Worcester HCR Law. Our session on Powers of Attorney, Deputyships, and Mental Capacity was well-received, with a packed audience (we even ran out of chairs!) We were able to address many parents' concerns about their adult children's future and the importance of Wills and Vulnerable Beneficiary Trusts. In the coming weeks, we're excited to support The Myriad Centre by helping to decorate their Santa's Grotto for their service users. #HCRlife #HCRLaw #PowersofAttorney #Deputyship #MentalCapacity #Wills #VulnerableBeneficiaryTrusts #MyriadCentre #HCRWorcester

🎥 "It Could Happen to You" – A powerful reminder from Bill Bastuk, Policy Director at the Deskovic Foundation, of the devastating stigma and personal cost of being wrongfully accused of a crime. His story, and countless others, drive our relentless advocacy for justice. 🚨 The Problem: Flawed investigations, bias, and systemic failures leave too many wrongfully accused, convicted, and incarcerated—destroying lives and families. 🌍 Our Mission: To create a world where fairness and truth reign in the criminal justice system. Where investigations are thorough, ethical, and transparent. Where justice truly serves and protects. 💪 How You Can Help: This holiday season, we need your support to expand our team of lawyers, administrators, and investigators. We're aiming to raise $10,000 by the end of 2024—and thanks to a generous supporter, all donations of $100 or more will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to that goal. Together, we can make a difference. Your gift fuels the fight for justice and gives hope to those who need it most. We didn’t put much thought into our resolution this year. It was obvious: we’re making a resolution for a world where no one is bought, sold, or exploited. Will you join us in making a resolution for freedom? We have big plans for 2025, but they can only happen if you commit to supporting them with a donation in these final days of the year. Those plans include: - Expanding our prevention programs with a strong focus on safeguarding children and teenagers. - Supporting trusted law enforcement and partnering with them to dismantle organized crime networks. - Ensuring survivors receive compassionate, individualized aftercare. Long-term change requires long-term commitment — year after year. Will you make a resolution to bring freedom to those trapped in trafficking right now? Get your tax-deductible donation in before the end of the year: https://lnkd.in/gtCK4hFB
