The UK new car market has reached the significant milestone of 1 million registrations in the first half of 2024, the first time this has been achieved since 2019. This 6% increase over the previous year was driven primarily by growth in the fleet sector, while private consumer demand continued to soften. However, the industry is calling on the next government to provide greater support for the consumer to accelerate the transition to zero emission vehicles and achieve the goal of having half of all cars in use be zero emission by 2035. BIG EVs CAN'T BE EFFICIENT. So how does Hyundai Motor UK Ioniq 5 manage to do it? A phenomenal efficiency from such a big car, 5mpkwh. This would take it over 270miles to a single charge well above WLTP, bear in mind this is the standard range 58kWh model. This also wasn't hypermiling this was in the hilly Brecon Beacons with the A/C in use. #efficiency #evs #WLTP
