Definitely worth checking my pigeon hole for this delightful treat of a book, courtesy of my membership of Edinburgh Foundation for Women in Law book club Shelf Indulgence. We originally launched Shelf Indulgence to enhance links between students and practitioners, and spark more conversations around women in the law. Worth a read for a glimmer of hope amongst still sobering statistics. Women make up only 25.9% of equity partners, a modest 1 point increase from the previous year. The representation of women among nonequity partners also increased slightly in 2023, rising from 33.8% to 34.6%. The proportion of women in nonpartner roles saw a very slight increase as well, rising from 48.5% to 48.9%.
