WHY IS IT THAT WHEN WE AFRICANS TALK ABOUT OURSELVES, WE IGNORE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT IMPACTS OUR ECONOMY - THE FINANCIAL POWER, THE RICHNESS, THE WEALTH, THE MONEY? Mimi Kalinda it's all to me so wonderful our African Festivals we so pompous must celebrate - the class, the beauty, the culture, and the elegance! Why don't we talk about the financial impact these festivals have in our economies and respectively promote IT! We've somehow have to get this well-financed, if we want to guarantee its #sustainability through many future generations! I know it's an #evil to associate #money with #culture in Africa! Without money though, the #creatives cannot survive and our #cultures would all eventually #die_out! Can one imagine how many #small_businesses ' #tailors, #hairdressers, #hawkers etc are benefiting from these #festivals? Why is nobody talking about the #economic_impact these festivals are bringing to us and why we should be having the economic interests of assuring their #Sustainability? #Culture shouldn't only be about #partying and #enjoyment! There has to be a #BiggerPurpose behind all of IT! Can any of the many other Africans with the foundations in #economics step forward, analyse and also narrate IT?

I’m intrigued. If you could have any superpower, what would yours be? Tell me in the comments below. I left super inspired by the ingenuity and sheer resilience of the Nigerian civil society at the USAID Nigeria-funded Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE) Legacy Summit last week. I’ve always felt that, as a nation, our #resilience may be our superpower. Thanks to USAID funding @Angela Martins, Machill Maxwell Manidu and the Palladium: Make It Possible-implemented SCALE program, it has empowered over 300 local partners and led local clusters, amplifying millions of citizens' voices. Over $8m has been mobilized for service delivery, and over 20 local organizations have moved from growth to maturity. Some reflections : 1. A Nigeria where government and civil society are partners is possible. We must find the intersection where we all win. 2. A Nigeria where the greater good supersedes self-interest is possible, but it starts with us /you individually, not government. Remember, the government comprises people who were once you and me. 3. We must not give up believing in the possibility of change I salute the Palladium SCALE team for its resilience, our Chief of Party, and my sister Lydia Odeh for visionary leadership. Nigeria is not for the faint-hearted. It requires #resilience. Change begins with a consistent effort from individuals, leading to a collective impact. If we don’t get tired of doing good, eventually, change and reward are inevitable, no matter how long it takes. The world often sees Nigeria through a distorted lens, focusing on stereotypes rather than the immense talent and potential within its borders. 🚀🌟 But we are so much more than the labels imposed on us. 💪💡 From raw talents like young copywriters ✍️📖 crafting compelling stories to young footballers ⚽🌠 dreaming of showcasing their skills on global stages, Nigeria is brimming with brilliance waiting to shine. 🌟🔥 Our young minds are innovative, determined, and capable of achieving greatness—if only given the chance. 🌈🙌 Don’t let a few bad apples overshadow the limitless potential of an entire nation. 🍎🚀 We are storytellers, athletes, thinkers, and creators ready to beat imaginations and rewrite narratives. 📝⚡🌍 #GiveUsAChance #WeCanBeatImaginations #LimitlessPotential 💥🎯

While Senegal rejoices in the aftermath of a free and fair election, heralding it as a testament to democracy, in Nigeria, particularly Lagos, the focus shifts to celebrating the completion of a road. This stark contrast in priorities highlights the diverse ways in which nations perceive and demonstrate their democratic achievements. However, some may argue that valuing infrastructure over electoral processes misses the essence of true democratic progress.
Congratulations President Elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye of Senegal. Really proud of you and do make Africa shine.

AFN and NOC, what went wrong? Why did you fail to enter Favour Ofili in the ongoing Olympics.....? Stating one’s disappointment and frustration over Nigeria’s neglect of its athletes is crucial, as evidenced by the recent situation surrounding Favor Ofili at the ongoing Olympics. Despite the significant talent and potential displayed by Nigerian athletes, inadequate support and lack of proper facilities have consistently hampered their performance on the global stage. Favor Ofili’s experiences illustrate a broader issue where athletes are often left to fend for themselves, deprived of essential resources, training, and recognition. This neglect not only undermines their potential but also diminishes Nigeria’s standing in international sports. The consequences of such neglect are profound. It leads to underperformance and missed opportunities on the global stage, erodes national pride, and affects the country's reputation in the international sporting community. To address this issue, Nigeria should implement several reforms. Firstly, there needs to be increased investment in sports infrastructure and training programs. Secondly, establishing a robust support system that includes financial aid, psychological support, and career development opportunities for athletes is essential. Lastly, fostering partnerships with private sector organizations could provide additional resources and sponsorships, ensuring that athletes receive the support they need to excel. Just a show of concern..😕 #IamDrBernardOdiase #TheExcellentServiceDeliveryAdvocate
