🌕 Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🌕
We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating together with fun mini-games and delicious mooncakes. 🎉
Each team member received a special mooncake package to take home, making the day even more memorable. This celebration brought us closer as we embraced the festive spirit together. 🌸

Oktoberfest comes to Edinburgh! There's Beer, Bavarian fun, But what's missing? 🍻
Edinburgh was ready for Bavarian fun, beer, and festivities over the weekend! But what was missing? 🤔 How about gamification to take it to the next level?
Here’s our spin on it: 🎯
- Leverage a digital game like YourSpin linked to Oktoberfest (think virtual beer pong or trivia on Bavarian culture).
- Offer group challenges with rewards (discounts on group tickets, exclusive beer tastings, or branded merch) to encourage friends to participate together.
- Use the game to capture valuable data - ask participants their favourite part of the festival, preferred drink, and food, and use insights to tailor future promotions or enhance their experience next year.
This not only drives engagement but also helps to boost sales for the various partners participating in Oktoberfest through incentivising group participation. People love to compete and win prizes together, we are social beings after all!
By gamifying the experience, you can turn the already lively event into an interactive experience that leaves lasting memories and a deeper understanding of your audience.
What would your spin be on the Oktoberfest in Edinburgh? 🎡🍺

Milky Bar Madness 🍫 🤯
Every week I put together a fun game for our team to play after our end of week wrap up - a quiz showdown with the ultimate prize: A sweet treat of the winners choice! 🍫 🍧 🍨 🍩 🍪 🍰 🍬 🍭 🍦 🍡
Something so small, cheap, easy and costs next to nothing = the team leaving with the biggest smiles. The laughter and camaraderie that erupts brings us all a little bit closer together.
Sometimes it really is the simple things that create a great working culture. 🧡
Sure, we've have our fancy team outings, bougee restaurants, incentive trips etc but nothing quite compares to the simple joy of a little chocolate-fuelled team building. Because at the end of the day, it's these small moments of fun and connection that really create the core culture of not just our business Alnaas Advisory but any business ✨
P.S. Why did I title this "Milkybar Madness" because last weeks winner decided to share their prize on Tuesday and the team really did enjoy themselves..... please take a look at exhibit "A" below. 👀
I am not naming any names but 54 bars and I'm left with only 2 on a Thursday 🤫 😂
Can't wait for this afternoons 90s and Early 2000s Music quiz!!!! 👩🎤
I'd love to hear what other companies and people do that helps build culture? 💭
In the famous words of Peter Drucker "Culture eats Strategy for breakfast" 🙌

I experienced this first hand the other day, with a meal out.
I’d never been to Flat Iron before, but they clearly understand the Peak End Rule.
Well, they also know the importance of first impressions; with a tasty bowl of popcorn served up as soon as we sat down.
But fast forward to the bill, and accompanying it came some mini cleavers, which turned out to be tokens for free (and really good) ice-cream.
Yeah, I remember the highlight - the steak.
But that ice-cream finish also stands out, and sure did help shape the way I (positively) remembered the overall experience I had!
The lesson for festivals and events?
You may not be able to shape and influence everyones peak ‘most intense’ points (the highlights), but you sure can try and do something when the time comes for them to leave.
And what with the importance of immediately selling tickets for next year's event to this year's customer, the Peak End Rule is something you need to give some attention to.

#StPatricksDay was first observed around the 10th century and has since evolved into a celebration of Irish culture and heritage open to anyone. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in more countries than any other single-day national festival, mainly due to America’s enthusiasm for what many consider a holiday.
For those in the U.S. looking to celebrate properly, use the Irish toast “sláinte,” which translates to “good health.” 🍀 Are you going out to celebrate the day??
For St. Patrick’s Day, the nationaltoday.com/ data science team surveyed 1,000 Americans on how they plan to spend the day.
Wear green: 30%
Eat Irish food: 13%
I don’t plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day: 12%
Pinch people who don’t wear green: 9%
Drink green beer: 8%
Go to a St. Patrick’s Day parade: 6%
Listen to Irish music: 5%
Watch an Irish movie: 4%
Go on a pub crawl: 3%
Go Irish dancing: 2%
Recently, I had a great talk with a team dreaming up a new food festival in the Los Angeles market.
Here’s the simple version of what we talked about, focusing on the vision for the festival & some marketing insights.
---> The Festival Vision
Imagine a festival that feels like a giant family reunion, where the essence of the community is captured. They want to create an event that's not just fun but meaningful, bringing people together over the love of food & community.
---> 4 key challenges discussed
1) Crafting the Right Message
Sharing the festival's story in a way that excites and connects with people & answering critical questions
Why now?
What will the experience be like?
Is there any partnerships in place or of interest that will enhance the experience?
2) Smartly Using The Marketing Budget
Planning to spread our budget across key moments like the big reveal, ticket sales launch, and the final countdown, ensuring each phase not only reaches people but drives efficient sales.
3) How To Make Everyone Welcome
Accessibility is crucial. Setting ticket prices to ensure everyone can join in, breaking down barriers so the whole community can celebrate.
4) Setting a clear timeline
Carefully timing announcements and sales to build hype. Making sure the team moves in a structured manner and people save the date for attendance!
