Discourse that ensued between a HR and a candidate thus;
HR: This is a preliminary interview where we only got to meet you and know about your background
Candidate: Okay, thank you
HR: Can we quickly meet you sir
Candidate: I'm xyz, I have my BSc in business admin from xxx university, and I had my 1yr compulsory NYSC in xxx ministry in Calabar. I have worked as an admin officer with xxx company where I was able to carry out xxx tasks for 2yrs etc and with other experiences as an operation manager and procurement officer. I presently resides in Lagos.
HR: Take me through a time where you processed a procurement for your company.
Candidate: (in my mind), I thought this is a preliminary interview where you just want to meet me and know about my background. If I explains all these process, what will the interview proper look like? chuckles, anyways, after assessing the biddings from suppliers, and also doing on the spot study in the market, then I can draw a final conclusion which of the bidding cost is fair, and then send such to the management for approval and fund mobilization for such projects.
HR: This sounds interesting, what if your boss has a bidder who you are aware and his cost of supply is high knowing fully well that he wants to perpetrate financial malfeasance, how would you handle such?
Oga HR, you said this is a preliminary interview, all these questions are not necessary, we must learn to keep to our established guideline. If all these questions are asked in this stage, what then is to be expected in the main interview proper.
Good morning my wonderful networks and connections
