Today as you can see I am showing skin tone in a casual and a more dressy and luxurious way. I really love skin tones. I always say it is skin tone that makes a color palette science and not just art or someone’s guess about who you are and the colors that are harmonious on you. I think that skin tone is one of the most useful colors you can have in your palette. It can soften a dramatic color or a dark neutral (instead of wearing white which can be too contrasting on many people). I suggest having your skin tone (often called a blush color in fashion) in necklace and earrings, in a belt and shoes. And of course if you see a piece of clothing in skin tone: buy it. It will turn out to be one of your favorite colors. And by the way, I mix it with my white in the summer since I have mostly lower contrast and it’s beautiful. The main lesson you can learn about jewellery from Emily In Paris. Emily In Paris is one of not many fiction series about the fashion world which is incredibly stylish (compared to Ugly Betty, for example). So I’ve been binging on it while my husband is away. In this image you can see Sylvie Grateau on the left, the owner of the PR agency. She is incredibly French, chic and elegant. On the right is Madeline. The loud American, who has no taste (according to the narrative, and I agree with that). The image of both of them is from the scene of the “fashion disaster” where both of them end up wearing the same dress by accident to an event. Who wore it better? Sylvie opted for no necklace, very minimal look with just statement earrings and simple hairstyle. Madeline went all in with “bling”, including massive necklace, bracelets and huge hair. When you are planning your outfit for a black tie event, go for “less is more” when it comes to jewellery. If you are wearing a V-cut outfit, the temptation is to put a necklace on “to balance it out”. Don’t do that, as it hasn’t been on trend for a while.
