𝟯 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 Happy Thanksgiving from our team at Lopez Plumbing & Heating Mechanical! Thanksgiving is known as a day to reflect on what you are thankful for! As you enjoy today, we recommend that you consider taking care of your home while guests are over. Here are three of the most common plumbing issues that arise on Thanksgiving. 1. Garbage Disposal Issues Many people eat a large meal on Thanksgiving and uneaten food usually ends up in the garbage disposal. However, there are certain foods you should avoid putting down your garbage disposal because they can easily prevent clogs. This includes starchy foods (mashed potatoes), stringy foods (asparagus), and solid foods (eggshells). 2. Clogged Drains Shower drains and bathroom sinks are also prone to clogs if not taken care of. Things like soap, scum, hair, and other debris can create blockage in your plumbing lines that slow your drains down. The best way to fix a clogged drain is to call a plumber. It might sound appealing to just use a chemical drain cleaner but they only open a small hole in your plumbing line which means that the clog with come back in no time. 3. Clogged Sewer Lines All of your guests at some point will need to use your bathroom. This additional use can cause your plumbing line to clog. To prevent this it is important that guests only flush toilet paper down the toilet. We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
