Design Your Office Product With Staff Wants and Needs as The Focus ⚠️ Office designs can become over complicated processes but a key emphasis for Landlords should be focused on this: 1) Many company owners want to persuade staff to come back to the office 2) For staff to want to come in, the office needs to offer more than their home. 3) This means the office and its amenities needs to be an upgrade on their home environment 4) The office needs to be a hybrid place of work but also a place to build a team culture and inspire collaboration 5) Don’t focus your office design solely around desk, chairs and meeting rooms.

In 2024, one of the biggest trends in office design will continue to be the “hotelification” of the office. Just like hotels focus on enhancing the guest experience, modern offices now offer amenities and services that redefine the traditional work environment. This trend brings flexibility to the forefront with hot-desking and co-working spaces to allow employees the freedom to choose where and how they work. It's a shift toward collaboration, adaptability, and a work environment that evolves with you.

Anyone else struggling to find the right office space at the moment? In Poole, where Nuffield is based, there has been a real downturn in available office space because they have been, (or are being), turned into flats. Although there are many new developments in the town centre, they don't seem to include new office spaces. Take a look at this article as a prime example; https://lnkd.in/exCwthkV As we continue to build our business here at Nuffield, our office space plays such a crucial role. The lack of options is making it really hard for businesses to find themselves a suitable “home”. For me, an office is so much more than just desks and meeting rooms, it’s about creating a space for the team to come together, collaborate and create a sense of belonging. So, without the right space, making that culture happen, is a real challenge. What’s the office landscape like in your area?

As remote work becomes more common, having a productive and comfortable home office is key. One great way to enhance your workspace is by adding a small sitting area. Carving out room for a couple of chairs and a side table creates an inviting spot to take a break, enjoy a cup of coffee, or have an impromptu meeting. This area can also help delineate your office from the rest of the home. A sitting space provides a nice transition between working at your desk and the rest of the house. It's a great place to unwind, refocus, or brainstorm new ideas. When designing your home office, don't underestimate the power of a small lounge section. It can transform your office into a multifunctional room tailored to your modern work needs. www.jlmartin.com #realestate #workspace #worklife #workfromhome #worktips #productivity #careeradvice #homeoffice #interiordesign #officedesign #remotework #workspaceideas

Did you know that office design can directly impact how well your team works together? If your office lacks spaces for employees to meet up, bond and brainstorm, it should come as no surprise that their productivity (and experience of the office in general!) will suffer. Instead, offices should prioritise spaces that bring people together. Collaborative zones like work cafes and breakout rooms can boost productivity and mood. And, whilst there’s no ‘I’ in ‘team’, the best flexible office designs will strike the balance between individual workspaces and areas for collaboration. Rethinking My Office Design: Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how I would design my office to better support our co-builders. The shift to open workspaces, while great for collaboration, has left many of us feeling a bit stripped of the sense of entitlement we once had over our personal spaces. I miss those days when each desk had its own character, filled with photos and little reminders of what makes us unique. I believe it’s time to bring back cubicles, creating cozy corners where everyone can feel at home and truly be themselves while they work. After all, a space that reflects our individuality can spark creativity and boost productivity. I’m also considering how we conduct meetings. What if we replaced chairs with stand-up meetings? It might sound simple, but I think it could lead to more lesser meeting time and better quality discussions—plus, it keeps the energy up!
