This week, OICA participated to the 76th session of GRSP at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. GRSP is a subsidiary body of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations, governing the construction of vehicles. GRSP focuses on aspects like the resistance to frontal impacts, safety of battery electric vehicles, child restraint systems, etc. At this 76th session, the major outcomes are: - General agreement to contribute to the improvement of provisions against thermal propagation in battery electric vehicles - Whiplash behaviour of occupants of smaller stature: express decision to avoid circumventing designs of the headrests - Review of all regulations under GRSP remit in the view to introducing Automated Vehicles in 2026. OICA is proud to have participated to this successful meeting and thanks the chairs and secretaries for their incessant commitment.

Committee Meetings, Group meetings, one-on-one conversations are the order of the day! As negotiations at INC continue it is so important to gain insight into the positions of members to identify where alignment of ideas occur, and to find a pathway to convergence of views. I find these diplomatic discussions so difficult, but so very important. Thanks to Kiara Worth for sharing this sneaky image she captured whilst documenting the proceedings. #inc4 #endplasticpollution
