Terragrow's Triumph: A Journey to Startupbootcamp's Top 20 We did it! Terragrow has soared to the top 20 of Startupbootcamp, and I couldn't be prouder of our team. Cue the celebratory confetti and let's take a moment to bask in the glory of this incredible achievement. But as the legendary Kobe Bryant once said: "Job's not done." The Sweat, the Grind, and the Hydroponics Reaching this milestone wasn't a walk in the park. It was more like a marathon through a dense jungle of challenges, with the occasional pitfall and, let's be honest, a few swamp monsters disguised as "feedback sessions." Our team has been working around the clock, navigating the treacherous waters of startup life. Late-night brainstorming sessions fueled by coffee (or nutrient-rich plant water), countless iterations of pitch decks, and the relentless pursuit of perfection have all been part of our journey. We've faced rejection, embraced feedback, and grown stronger with each hurdle. A Glimpse Behind the Scenes I still remember the time our prototype decided to stage a rebellion during a crucial demo. Or that moment when funding seemed as elusive as a rare plant species. These are the stories that make Terragrow's journey not just a tale of success but an epic saga of determination and grit. It's a testament to our resilience and unwavering belief in our vision. We've turned every "no" into a "not yet" and every obstacle into an opportunity for innovation. The path to the top 20 was paved with sleepless nights, countless revisions, and the occasional "Did we just invent a new plant species?" moment. The Kobe Connection So why invoke Kobe Bryant's "job's not done" mantra? Because this achievement, as monumental as it is, is just a chapter in the Terragrow story. It's a reminder that while it's essential to celebrate victories, the journey is far from over. Our real mission—revolutionizing indoor farming with smart hydroponic solutions—continues. Startupbootcamp is a launchpad, not the finish line. We know that the hard work, innovation, and persistence that got us here will need to be doubled down as we move forward. The vision of simplifying indoor farming with smart sensors and efficient hydroponic systems is within reach, but there's still plenty of work to be done. Very excited to share that after working alongside the founders of Adept Aqua for 7 months now, I’ve recently decided to take the leap and join the team more formally. Adept Aqua is an emerging DeepTech/ClimateTech startup which is revolutionising water treatment - both for the protection and regeneration of the natural environment and industrial applications such as the aquaculture industry. They have also recently been selected by Cicada Innovations to be one of the #Tech23 When the Ops role was offered, I realised I had both Ikigai * and the perfect team fit to take the leap. You know what they say... "never say I'll never join a startup again!". The website and technology is deliberately vague - we are awaiting priority dates - but it will deliver key benefits, such as: - Catalysing decarbonisation of the global aquaculture industry (lowering energy use and carbon footprint of oxygenation/aeration leading to increased profitability). - Boosting the health and resilience of fragile river, waterway, and lake ecosystems, and the critically endangered native species that live within them.   I'm still working with my portfolio of startups, board roles and still investing.
