Olympus APAC’s Post

As we edge toward the end of our November feature for Lung Cancer Awareness Month, it is imperative to remember that early detection plays a significant role in real-world outcomes. If you have any concerns or experience any symptoms, your best point of advice is your local healthcare professional, who can provide you with information and options. As shared by the World Health Organization: - Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer, responsible for approximately 85% of all cases. - Lung cancer is often diagnosed at advanced stages when treatment options are limited. Early detection is crucial. - Primary prevention measures, such as tobacco control and reducing exposure to environmental risk factors, can significantly decrease the incidence of lung cancer and save lives. Ways to prevent lung cancer include: - Not smoking - Avoiding secondhand smoke - Minimizing exposure to air pollution - Limiting contact with workplace hazards, such as chemicals and asbestos #OlympusInAPAC #LoveForLungs #LCAM #LungCancerAwarenessMonth #ESG #CSR #APAC #CancerAwareness
