These have an impact if someone is operating machinery or driving a car, and police have reported a rise in cocaine-related fatal car crashes over the last few years. I welcome the approach that Greens/Labour have put forward RE therapeutic vaping regulation. The proposed amendments will address many key issues with the prescription-only access proposal: - Reduce burden on prescribers network - Enable patient discussion with a healthcare professional (Pharmacists) RE smoking/vaping cessation - Streamline availability of therapeutic NVPs for bone fide patients (especially at risk groups) - Ensure only high quality, regulated products are introduced through pharmacy channel There is high certainty evidence that NVPs are the most effective quit smoking aid available today. Smoking causes over 20,000 deaths each year in Australia. This proposal is a step toward reducing that number.
