🌟 Reflecting on My Journey 🌟 With nearly 12 years of experience across various roles and industries, from before my university graduation in Business Administration to today, I've had the chance to explore different fields, each adding unique insights and skills to my career. Through roles in sales, management, and call centers, I gained a wide perspective, but I truly found my calling in the due diligence and research field. Working as a business research analyst for the past 1.5 years, I've realized this area aligns perfectly with my personal and professional strengths, allowing me to leverage my analytical skills, attention to detail, and deep commitment to uncovering insights. The field of due diligence and research not only aligns with who I am but also demands the qualities I strive to embody—thoroughness, accuracy, and persistence. It's fulfilling to work in a domain that constantly challenges me to be my best and to ensure decisions are grounded in solid, reliable information. I’m excited for what’s ahead, knowing that I've found my career path in a field where I can thrive and make an impact. Life as a Business Analyst They say timing is everything… so naturally, I’m sharing this post exactly one month later than planned. Let’s just call it “extended analysis”! 😊 Being a Business Analyst means balancing logic with creativity, solving puzzles, and sometimes explaining things in a way that even I understand first. Here’s what I’ve learned: Curiosity opens doors. Asking “why” (a lot) helps uncover the real needs. Listening builds trust. The best answers often come when you just let people talk. Adaptability is key. Priorities shift, and nothing ever goes exactly as planned. Mistakes are lessons. They’re unavoidable, so turn them into stepping stones. I’m incredibly thankful for the guidance and support from my colleagues and mentors. This experience has been a true stepping stone in my career, and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead! #BankOfBaku #ITBusinessAnalyst #LearningAndGrowth #CareerJourney

You know that feeling when someone asks what you do, and you catch yourself saying "I'm 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 a..."? I spent years hearing this, especially from Business Analysts I work with. That little word "just" - it's like we're apologising for existing. The other day, someone told me: "James, I've been doing this job for 10 years, but I still introduce myself as 'just a business analyst' - why do I do that?" ❓Good question. Why do we do that? I think it's because somewhere along the way, we started believing our job title defines us. We took that box they put us in and made it our home. But here's what I've learned working with hundreds of professionals: You're not your job title. You're not your role description. You're not the box they put you in. One person I coached recently had this breakthrough moment. She said: "I realised I'm not just following processes - I'm actually shaping how businesses work and grow." 💪That shift in how she saw herself changed everything. Her confidence, her impact, even how others treated her - it all transformed. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹? #careergrowth #personalgrowth #professionaldevelopment

Is being too curious becoming a bad thing for your career? Curiosity is generally a good thing, but I've seen a lot of people lose focus on the main parts of their job because they were too curious about things that really didn't matter in their role. To be successful, remember, you're being paid to focus on a certain area. While curiosity outside of your area can be a good thing, be careful to not let it get the best of you and cause you to fail to optimize your time and deliver results. #dataanalystbeginner #businessanalysttraining #businessintelligence #businessanalysttraining #businessanalyst #breakintoanalytics #dataanalyticscertification #dataanalyticscertificate #dataanalyst #dataanalytics #srdataanalyst

Dear LinkedIn connections, Transitioning from direct marketing to a business analyst role has been a journey filled with insights. Through my interactions, it's become evident that hands-on experience is crucial for landing a role in this field. Industry-specific experience is a key factor for consideration, raising the question: how does one gain that initial experience without a starting point? The importance of being given an opportunity to showcase skills and grow cannot be understated. Waiting for that chance to prove oneself is a common sentiment among aspiring professionals. It's a reminder of the value of being given a platform to shine and develop expertise. #CareerTransition #BusinessAnalyst #OpportunityAwaits

As we enjoy our weekends before returning to the hustle and bustle of the weekdays, I'll like to share a routine that helps me reset after a long day or week of work which is 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. Now, some of you might be wondering, how does journaling relate to my professional life?. Personally, I made a conscious decision to be intentional with every aspect of my life, from personal to professional, few years back I decided to document every aspect of my life, both the pleasant and the unpleasant. I've done this by recording my memories visually and also through journal entries. Looking back, I wish I had started sooner. It has helped me in so many aspects, but I'll be focusing on the career impact of it. Sometimes, amidst all the work, we forget to take a deep breath and rejuvenate. For me, as Business Analyst after all the rigmarole of tasks one thing that revives me is journaling. Here's why: Find below⬇️. Hi there! 📣 I'm excited to share with you the launch of my new series, where I'll be sharing tips based on my personal & work experience, my own therapy and close observations of my colleagues' during the years that helped me advanced my career (and not only 🙂 ). #tips #career #personal #growth My Data journey started 7 years ago as Junior Reporting Analyst. All these years I've been developing new skills in both data and non-data areas, particularly focusing on my personal growth, challenging old beliefs, and overcoming mental barriers which resulted in 📈 advancing my career to Senior Data Engineer and in turning into a matured grown-up. #advance #career Today, I'd like to share with you the first tip 💡 that, I believe is essential for advancing the mental and emotional state within us as a solid ground for any further personal or career leader climbing. #mental #emotional #stability 📌 Stay grounded 🌍 Being grounded means to be aware of what surrounds you and to know the difference between what is real and what is not real, especially about your own personality👨🔧 👩🔧 Unfortunately, we rarely see ourselves as Who We Are because our thoughts, emotions and beliefs filters this reality. The differentiation (real vs unreal) is crucial for cultivating a healthy and realistic self-esteem. The latter is essential for managing the stress that accompanies the career growth, from one hand, and obstacles in your personal and working life, from the other hand. Having emotional and mental stability ⚖ will make you a preferred and trust-worthy leader in critical situations, particularly those involving clients whose projects and investments are vital for the company. Moreover, the ability to see the real picture will tremendously mitigate the risk of promising things to your clients/stakeholders that you can never achieve. #balance #reality #mentalstate 🔍 What to practice for grounding? 1️⃣ Sit on your pelvic bones, 2️⃣ Feel your feet firmly on the ground, 3️⃣ Keep your spine straight. 4️⃣ Inhale deeply, filling your lungs to capacity. 5️⃣ Exhale fully. * Repeat this for 5 minutes two times a day or more. This technique aims to: ✅ calm your mind by providing enough oxygen to your brain, ✅ make you trust your own steady feet which inevitably increases the trust in yourself, ✅ put your thoughts in order ( our mind can be very messy as you know), ✅ create new and empty paths in your brain that will help you see another perspective of the situations you are involved in, or just of your own actions. #technique #grounding #practice #mind #mindfulness Our brain works in a completely different mode when we have more oxygen. To obtain more oxygen, we have to breath deeply and continuously to use our lungs capacity, which in our busy life happens almost ... never? I hope the practice of this tip will be beneficial for you. Stay tuned for more!
