Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled several key measures to promote growth in the manufacturing and services sectors during the Union Budget 2024 presentation. One of the significant announcements was the introduction of a robust internship program aimed at enhancing youth employability and skill development. This initiative will provide internships to youth in the top 500 companies across India. Each intern will receive a monthly allowance of ₹5,000 to support their living expenses during the internship period. In addition, a one-time assistance of ₹6,000 will be provided to help cover initial costs associated with starting the Internship. OECD Internships 2024 (Fully-funded) The Internship Programme is open on an on-going basis. Students enrolled at a fully accredited degree programme (Bachelor, Master, PhD) during the entire duration of their internship can apply online. Selected interns are expected to work remotely until further notice. BENEFITS: The duration of the internship is for a period between one and six months (renewable for another six months up to a total of twelve months), on a full-time basis (40 hours/week). The OECD encourages potential interns to stay for six months in order to gain the best possible insight into work at the OECD. A contribution to living expenses of around 700 euros per full month worked will be granted to interns by the OECD.
