The Space Force is taking a bold step forward with its Resilient GPS (R-GPS) program, targeting smaller, more cost-effective, and adaptable satellites to strengthen navigation and positioning systems. Partnering with both commercial and defense firms, the goal is to launch the first fleet of these advanced satellites by 2028. With a focus on affordability, modular design, and cutting-edge anti-jam capabilities, R-GPS aims to counter threats like GPS jamming and spoofing, seen in modern conflicts. This initiative not only addresses current vulnerabilities but also sets the stage for innovation in space resilience. #spaceforce #gpsinnovation #resilientsatellites #spacetechnology #defenseinnovation

One of the Jackal Autonomous Orbital Vehicle's (AOV) core competencies, Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) explained below!
What are Rendezvous and Proximity Operations? Simply put, Rendezvous and Proximity Operations (RPO) are a set of in-orbit maneuvers spacecraft perform when they approach and operate near each other. Since the 1960s, RPO has been used in civil space operations for various maneuvers, including docking, refueling, and resupplying space stations. As the new space economy evolves, RPO is emerging in many forms, addressing challenges such as on-orbit servicing, debris removal, in-space manufacturing and assembly, among others. RPO is one of the most challenging space missions to master. In today's increasingly contested space environment, mastering RPO isn't just a technical challenge—it's a critical capability for maintaining space security through sustained space maneuver. As new threats emerge, the ability to safely approach, inspect, and gather intelligence on potentially hostile or unknown objects in orbit, particularly if they are highly agile, is vital for protecting the assets and interests of the US and its allies. True Anomaly's Jackal Orbital Vehicle (AOV) was explicitly designed for this mission and is at the forefront of these efforts. By leveraging our Mosaic Operating System, Jackal will execute precise RPO maneuvers to provide real-time situational awareness and actionable intelligence, helping decision-makers respond effectively to evolving threats. As we continue to innovate, True Anomaly remains committed to advancing space security and protecting the future of the space domain. #SpaceSecurity #RPO #SpaceTech #NationalSecurity #Defensetech

On September 6th, 2024, Spaceflux confirmed the breakup of the ATLAS 5 CENTAUR rocket body (NORAD ID: 43227) following an initial #detection by Slingshot Aerospace. At 19:13 UTC, our sensor in Southern Australia observed the fragmentation debris at a distance of 21,700 km, leveraging our advanced stacking #software to precisely identify the #debris while minimizing interference from star streaks. The #fragmentation, occurring in geostationary transfer orbit (GTO), highlights the growing challenge of space debris management in this critical region, which is essential for both defense and commercial #satellite operations. By tracking these debris fields, Spaceflux helps mitigate potential risks to national security assets and ensure operational continuity for key orbital systems. With our AI-driven space traffic management and global sensor #network, Spaceflux is dedicated to ongoing #monitoring and precise #tracking of #space debris to protect valuable #infrastructure. We will continue analyzing the #data to provide further updates on this event. #SSA #spacedebris #SpaceTrafficManagement #spacesustainability #OrbitalDebris #NationalSecurity #SatelliteSafety #AI

#NewSpace is a tagline for the intersection of lower launch costs and high-performing industrial grade electronics. These changes combine to dramatically alter the cost-benefit ratio of space missions compared to the past. Operational concepts that were not viable, or even thought of, in the past are suddenly attractive and can be built and deployed in only a few years. New Space #LowEarthOrbit #constellations are supplanting traditional Geostationary solutions, with scope for hundreds or thousands of satellites to be cost-effectively employed. This presents an opportunity for implementation of #ElectronicWarfare missions using New Space Low Earth Orbit constellations to dominate the ultimate high ground. However these New Space constellations also need to be protected against hostile Electronic Warfare. In this presentation, our special guest Dr Craig Benson (Co-founder, Director and Chief Innovation Officer at Skykraft) will be using his insights into the New Space field and background in Electronic Warfare to highlight the opportunities and risks inherent in New Space. If you're a space-enthusiast, check out our other #SpaceEW speakers & get your tickets to the Convention here: https://lnkd.in/gPsi-kgc Become a sponsor: aocaustralia.com/sponsorus Or nominate your pals for the #AustralianEWAwards: https://lnkd.in/gzchFjVh

The Defense Innovation Unit selected The Spaceport Company to demonstrate the ability to use a sea-based launch platform to quickly send cargo or satellites to orbit. The company, headquartered in Woodbridge, Virginia, builds floating launch pads that could allow commercial companies or the Defense Department to fly payloads offshore. The concept is particularly relevant amid unprecedented launch rates, which are increasingly causing congestion at U.S. ranges. “A sea-based launch platform is a strategically significant capability that increases equatorial launch access while enabling responsive launch coordination and avoiding high-traffic airspace,” DIU said in a May 28 statement announcing the deal. The award is part of a DIU effort called Novel Responsive Space Delivery, which aims to prototype commercial solutions that support responsive and precise space launch capabilities. That could include using a rocket to send cargo from one point on Earth to another, between two satellites in orbit, or from one location in space to another. “Responsive and reliable logistics and sustainment lines of communication are essential to the Warfighter,” Austin Baker, Deputy Portfolio Director for DIU’s space portfolio, said in the statement. “By prototyping commercial solutions for the delivery of cargo and other supplies to, through and from space, we will equip the Joint Force with new methods for sustainment that directly address this need and provide a unique competitive advantage.” #DIU #Space #Launch The Spaceport Company won a contract from the Defense Innovation Unit to further development of its sea-based launch pad.
