🚸 School is almost back in session 🚸 As the new school year approaches, we encourage you to evaluate the safety of your buildings and make any necessary improvements to prioritize the well-being of your students and teachers. If you're unsure where to begin with upgrading your school's safety technology, consider starting with the doors and windows. Doors are the main entry points into school buildings and classrooms, and their mechanisms are essential for student protection and intruder prevention. Windows, being susceptible to breakage, are another critical component of building security that should be reinforced appropriately. In the context of school safety, we want to help school districts focus on the multi-layered approach to school safety which include: 1. Physical Security, 2. Policy and processes, and 3. Engagement. In this post (https://hubs.la/Q02RSVsj0), we discuss physical security. Physical security requires a review and hardening of specific areas of your campus including the overall property, the campus parking lot(s), the building(s) themselves and within the building interior, including the classroom. This relates to several types of security including (and most importantly), the locking of facility and room doors, the surveillance of the property and public areas and the methods of controlling access and flows within the buildings. In reviewing physical security, it’s important to address multiple layers of physical security as we outline in https://hubs.la/Q02RSVsj0. Let’s continue to never grow weary of attention to school safety and let’s keep our kids, teachers and staff safe. #schoolsafety #schoolsecurity #townsteel #doorsecurity #doorhardware

🔒 School Safety Starts with Visibility: The Role of Tinted Windows 🌟 In today’s world, ensuring a safe environment for students is more critical than ever. As schools look for innovative ways to bolster security, window tinting is emerging as a simple yet powerful solution. Tinted windows do more than just reduce glare and heat—they enhance privacy and security. By limiting visibility from the outside, tinted windows make it harder for potential threats to assess school interiors, helping to protect students and staff without disrupting the learning environment. Moreover, window tinting can: - Prevent break-ins: Reinforced tinting helps windows withstand impact, delaying or deterring unauthorized entry. - Reduce distractions: Students are less likely to be distracted by outside activities, creating a more focused classroom experience. - Create a safer, energy-efficient environment: Tinted windows block harmful UV rays, keeping classrooms cooler while also reducing energy costs. As we continue to explore ways to make our schools safer, let’s remember that small adjustments—like tinting windows—can have a big impact. 🔑 How are you contributing to school safety in your community? Let’s discuss practical solutions that make a difference. #SchoolSafety #EducationMatters #WindowTinting #SafeSchools #StudentSecurity #FacilityManagement

51% of Campus Safety survey respondents believe their building's glass doors and windows are what is most likely to fail in the event of an attack. There is far less concern (25%) about perimeter security, like gates, doors, locks, and access systems. Why? The stubborn reality is that majority of school shooters are students, faculty, and other people who can easily access the campus without needing to breach a locked perimeter. There is a need for robust glass security systems in our schools - safeguarding our community's peace of mind and ensuring every child can learn in a secure setting. We provide schools with innovative glass armor systems to guard the lives of our community's scholars and teachers - even in the event of an internal threat or perimeter breach. #CampusSafety #SchoolSecurity #GlassArmor #StudentSafety #SafeSchools #CommunityPeaceOfMind #2024SurveyReport
