Nice be part of this research project, monitoring nutrient uptake results in better insight how to optimize plant nutrition in low energy greenhouse with LED-light https://lnkd.in/dgFmaT8m
🌿 👩🌾 How Can Advanced Nutritional Strategies Transform Horticulture? In our final vlog of the botany trial series, ruud Kaarsemaker from Normec Groen Agro Control provides an in-depth look at how nutritional strategies can dramatically enhance crop yield and quality. Take a look! The series uncovered two nutritional approaches: a conventional plan to maintain stability throughout the growth cycle, and a dynamic strategy with nitrate levels, leading to a notable shift in plant growth dynamics. Strategic Nitrate Reduction: The trials demonstrate that reducing nitrate levels minimizes transpiration and lowers the energy demands for dehumidification. Beyond Yield - Enhancing Quality: This approach advocates for a balance among climate, irrigation, nutrition, and genetics, aiming for low-energy, high-efficiency farming. ⁉ What effects does adjusting the potassium to nitrate ratio have? To uncover the full impact of these nutritional strategies, watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/eZXauyPj #GrowWithThePros #PhilipsHorticulture #LEDlighting #growlights

#Autumn is the time for harvesting spring crops and the time of intensive initial growth of #winter #crops Did you know that it is important to take care of plant health during this period? Autumn fertilization can be the key to a successful #harvest, but is it really necessary? It is important that in the fall, despite the fact that #plants are preparing for dormancy, they still need #nutrients 📝 #Advantages of #foliar #fertilization: ✅ Allows #plants to quickly absorb #nutrients through the #leaves. This is especially useful in the fall, when #plants can be stressed by changes in temperature and reduced daylight hours. ✅ Improves plant immunity and makes them less vulnerable to diseases and pests. ✅ Stimulates root #growth, which provides better resistance to wintering conditions. #Features of fertilizing #winter #crops: Autumn fertilization is especially important for winter crops. It contributes to the formation of a strong root system before the onset of #winter and helps plants to better withstand the cold period. Particularly effective are #fertilizers with a high phosphorus and potassium content, which strengthen plant tissues, promote the accumulation of more sugars and increase their resistance to low temperatures, as well as #fertilizers with #boron, which help strengthen the cells of the plant #root #system. What #fertilizers should I choose? ✅ When choosing #fertilizers for autumn #foliar #feeding, pay attention to #formulas containing #potassium and phosphorus, as they help strengthen the root system and prepare #plants for winter conditions. Our recommendation is Wonder Leaf Mono Ca 14, Wonder Leaf Pink, Wonder Leaf B 11, and Wonder Leaf Mono P 30. High-quality #fertilizers such as Wonder can be your best helpers in this process ✔️ Don't ignore the fall #fertilization! The right #foliar #fertilizer can be the key to a successful spring #harvest. Take care of your plants even in the fall to get an even more generous harvest next season! 🌍 #fertilizers #feeding #agriculture #potassium #phosphorus #growth

Desmodium is the superpower legume fodder that should occupy any regenerative farmer in the tropics. Further, its ability to sequester carbon and provide livestock feeds should be a major subject everywhere. https://lnkd.in/di4SpMcH

Try out the nutrient removal calculator to make more strategic fertilizer decisions this season. Growers can use this unique tool to calculate the amount of nutrients removed from their soil during harvest. The results will help you better understand how much of each nutrient you should be replacing before seeding. Cover crops are an inexpensive and efficient way to rebuild soil fertility and organic matter while protecting your soil from winter damage. There are different cover crops for different purposes such as adding soil nutrients, feeding soil microbes, or keeping weeds at bay. Some cover crops will need to be planted in mid-summer, but you can sow seeds of some cover crops into early fall. #EcologicalGardenCCE

Nitrogen loss in your citrus orchards is a concern. Our agronomy team has found blending thiosulfate like CaTs® with your urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) solution is a cost-efficient and highly effective way of reducing nitrogen loss. Our research has shown CaTs has nitrification inhibition properties that slow the conversion of ammonium to nitrate, in turn reducing the chances of nitrogen leaching and denitrification. As an added bonus for your citrus CaTs can also improve soil structure in high pH soils, enhance water infiltration, combats citrus greening, and enhance nitrogen uptake for the crop.
