I attended my first Live Audio Session/Podcast on LinkedIn today! 🎊 A mutual dropped a comment on the post invite, I saw it, got interested, and marked the event on my calendar. I'm glad for the outpour of information and motivation these hosts shared in this session. The important insights I got from the sessions are: ♻️Engage! Engage on other people's content and drop meaningful comments. Read the post to understand before replying "well said" every time you comment. Don't get me wrong, you can comment "well said", or "insightful" but don't you want people to hear your thoughts in writing? ♻️Don't compete: Everybody's pace is different and so is our content/journey. If someone inspires you, reach out for help, and don't see them as a competition. Collaborative rather than being competitive. ♻️Be yourself, and share valuable content. ♻️Don't be pressured. I try not to spend too much time and energy appeasing the ‘gods’ of the internet. Call me old fashioned, but I’d rather get referrals and recommendations from real people over getting shown preference from any algorithm. That means that first and foremost, I try and create content for you, dear reader. If I can inspire you, make your life easier, and help you achieve your goals through creating content on LinkedIn, then my primary job is complete. But if I can do that AND get the LinkedIn algorithm to show my content to more people, well then, why not? That’s one of the reasons you’ve seen me put so much more of an emphasis on LinkedIn Lives lately. The great and powerful algorithm has decided that Live content shall get boosted more than any other formats this year. I’m taking full advantage of it and I encourage you to consider doing the same.
