Now that tickets for the 2025 NiB Conference are available, we’d like to share the themes that we will be exploring. This year’s main theme is ‘Collaborating for Impact: Creating a Neurodiverse Future’ and there are three sub-themes, which build on the discussions that took place during our 2024 Conference. The second theme is ‘Empowerment and Leadership in Neurodiversity’. This rethinks traditional leadership models. It considers how to amplify and empower neurodivergent voices at every level of the organisation, highlighting the critical role that everyone plays in role-modelling neuroinclusion. Areas of consideration include: - Supporting the creativity and innovation of every employee. - Encouraging neurodivergent employees to advocate for their own needs. For example: preferred working styles and career development paths. - Promoting inclusive leadership styles. If you’d like a reminder of 2024’s top takeaways, watch our short video. If you’d like to find out more about our first subtheme People, Culture and Process, check out the link in the comments. Tickets are available now - whether you’d like to attend in person, virtually or even ‘on demand’ after the event, we’ve got the perfect ticket option for you. Full details are on our Conference website at https://lnkd.in/egAkvnz9 #NeurodiversityInBusiness #NiBConference2025 #CollaborateForImpact Image description: Video of the top takeaways from the 2024 NiB Conference.

#WednesdayWisdom: Pioneering DE&I in Global Events Today, Loren Christie shares tips on how you can (or must we say should?) embrace the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion in transforming your events and meetings: 1) #Technology as a Bridge for Inclusion: Utilize technology to remove language barriers, ensuring that all participants can fully engage and contribute in their native languages to foster a truly inclusive environment. 2) Proactive DE&I #Planning: Start with diversity, equity, and inclusion at the core of your event planning. From strategic site selection to inclusive programming, make DE&I a foundational element of every event. 3) Leadership #Commitment to DE&I: Leadership should actively support and engage in #DEI initiatives. This commitment from the top down inspires a culture that values and practices inclusivity across all levels. By integrating these practices, we set a new standard for inclusivity and engagement in the global meetings and events industry. There’s an adage “diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance.” I would take it one step further: diversity and inclusion are about our willingness to listen to other people’s music and feeling the vibration in our heart as we rock out and shout to a rhythm and melody that may be unfamiliar to us, but which feels good in our soul. I believe the willingness to move with the rhythm is what will take us further personally, professionally, organizationally, and as a society. If you know me, then you know I love to dance, and I often dance to whatever tune is playing in my head.😊 For the first time in my professional career, I was invited to dance with others at the most inclusive and rhythmic conference — the Prosper Forum! One of the presenters, Cynt Marshall, invited several leaders to the stage to join her in the Cha Cha Slide dance. Then we all fanned out into the audience to teach others the dance moves. We were of one sound, one mind, without judgement in support of one another. Exactly what inclusion is all about! Throughout the conference, an annual three-day event bringing together hundreds of leaders in foodservice and hospitality to uplift the future of our industry, we leaned into topics such as “potential vs. credential” in building more inclusive leadership paths, balancing employee well-being and belonging with profitability, and developing and maintaining meaningful connections, to just name a few. I had the incredible opportunity to present on leadership to our Prosper Accelerator participants. I shared with these emerging leaders what support looks like when it’s poured into us by those who’ve come before us. My mantra has always been to be true to yourself, live with integrity, and build your own brand. You are, I am, we are as important as the organization’s brand. My colleague Lindsay Broome of #Foodbuy contributed to a panel on how organizations can be innovators in supplier diversity – something Compass Group USA has prioritized for more than 25 years. A big thank you to all attendees, my fellow speakers, and the conference organizers for creating such a dynamic environment for learning and collaboration. And a shoutout to Fred LeFranc for the photo. I’m fortunate and grateful to be a part of this community. Together we are driving change! #ProsperForum2024 #Leadership #Networking #DEI #CompassGroup

Why aren’t more men attending events like this? Here’s what they’re missing… In a world where leadership is constantly evolving, true growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones. Yesterday, I had a great time attending the SIM Women event, led by amazing Karin Calde, PhD, CPC, on optimizing life through Energy Leadership. Yes, I was one of the few men there, and guess what? I left feeling energized, more connected, and ready to lead with a fresh perspective. Here’s what stood out to me: ➟ Leadership is not about gender, it’s about energy. ➟ Empowering others starts with empowering yourself. ➟ Every leader has the power to influence and elevate those around them. Why should men attend events like this? Because diverse insights are the key to leading in an inclusive and ever-evolving world. It’s not just about listening—it’s about actively engaging in the conversations that shape the future of leadership for all. Let’s continue to break down barriers and create spaces where everyone’s voice and energy are welcomed. When we lead together, we can achieve more. We had amazing conversations on our table. Thanks Andrea Ballinger, MBA Li Jacobson, MBA Catherine Peloquin Thanks Sacha Basho and her team including Michelle Harrell for putting this together. Thanks ProFocus Technology and Google for sponsoring the event. Great to see you Elyse Rosenberg Breanne Howard (Antonius) Aubrey McCauley Angie Eastman-Aytes PMP Misty Tyler Bonnie Ramirez Abrar Ahmed Jennifer Waldrip Tymalaya Shuell (She/Her) Surekha Reddy Lucy Flores and many others... What are you doing to push the boundaries of your leadership journey? #Leadership #DiversityMatters #EnergyLeadership #InclusiveLeadership #SIMWomen #GrowthMindset #SELFIESABY

Responsive Conference has always been ahead of the curve. We’ve always been exploring the next big thing before they were the next big thing. → We were discussing diversity and belonging in the workplace in 2017 → We were debating artificial intelligence on stage in 2019 → We were talking about the trends that the COVID19 pandemic exposed long before lockdown. This year, in September, we’re bringing together 250 CEOs, founders, and leaders from across industries to connect and work better together.

It feels surreal to be writing this, but I'll be speaking at RecFest USA in just a few weeks!! Talk about speaking something into existences. A huge thank you to James Ellis for reaching out to me to speak, and to Bryan Chaney and Tracey Parsons for pouring their own confidence and belief into me over the past few years. I am delighted I had the opportunity to attend today the Women’s Network Annual Conference, where we listened to inspiring stories of change and successs from Kirsten Bradbury and Kathryn Thomas, facilitated by Erin Winstead. Several powerful themes emerged, emphasizing the unique approaches and strategies we can adopt to thrive in leadership roles. ✔️One of the key takeaways was the importance of trusting your instincts and having confidence in your convictions. Leadership is often about making decisions in uncertain situations, and trusting yourself can be a critical factor in guiding your team or organization effectively. ✔️Another crucial point raised was the need for empowerment, starting with yourself and the importance of trusting in your own capabilities. Believing in your strengths and embracing challenges with confidence can pave the way for personal and professional growth. ✔️During the session there was an emphasis on the value of being succinct and straight to the point. Leaders often navigate fast-paced environments where clarity and efficiency matter. Learning to deliver your message with precision not only builds respect but also enhances decision-making processes. ✔️A refreshing theme in the discussion was the call to be more human in leadership. Authenticity, empathy, and vulnerability allow leaders to connect deeply with their teams, fostering trust and collaboration across all levels of the organization. ✔️Leadership sense checks — taking the time to reflect and be open about your own vulnerabilities and strengthens, encouraging to engage and share openly. ✔️Another critical skill discussed was the ability to influence without authority. Leadership often requires mobilizing people and resources beyond your immediate control. The ability to lead through influence rather than formal authority is a powerful skill that allows to effect change and create impact across the organization. ✔️Challenges and tough moments provide valuable lessons that shape stronger, more resilience. ✔️When it comes to mentoring, it is so meaningful to get mentoring outside the hierarchy and seeking broader feedback. This approach allows gathering diverse perspectives, challenge assumptions, and offer guidance beyond formal structures. ✔️Finally, a consistent message throughout was the need to be intentional at every level. Whether in day-to-day interactions, decision-making, or long-term strategies, being deliberate and purposeful is essential to driving impact and inspiring others. Huge thanks to the CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) Women’s Network and Citi for organising and hosting such an insightful session Farai Mwashita CEng IMechE Silvina Aguirre Fernández Ami Bowyer Rosie Hutton Ferhin Master and everyone involved! #CBREGWS #WomensNetwork #WomenInLeadership

Don't be afraid of DE&I! 👻 Excited to be presenting "Don't be afraid of DE&I – why it’s good for people and profits" tomorrow at the British Educational Travel Association (BETA) summit with my co-founder, Leanne Linacre. We’ll be discussing the tangible benefits of embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, from attracting top Gen Z talent to improving financial performance. Our session will cover why DE&I is a business imperative, not just a social one, and how inclusive cultures lead to innovation, better decision-making, and stronger business results. I'll also be highlighting how DE&I plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining Gen Z employees, who are increasingly choosing employers that reflect their values. If you’re attending the summit, make sure to join us as we share insights on how DE&I can positively impact your workforce and drive growth. Looking forward to seeing you there! #DiversityandInclusion #Leadership #WorkplaceEquity #InclusiveWorkplaces
