💡 Bladder cancer is not just a statistic; it’s the 10th most common cancer worldwide, accounting for 3% of newly diagnosed cancers, and carries with it an immense socio-economic burden. 🌟 Thanks to the brilliant work of our collaborator Mirjam Kiener, we’ve developed an immunocompetent bladder cancer-on-chip model using our AXBarrier-on-chip technology.  It successfully reproduces the natural movement of the bladder, from its gradual filling to its rapid emptying. 💪🏼 This physiological model is a suitable tool for preclinical efficacy and toxicity screening of chemo- and immunotherapies and brings us closer to improving treatment outcomes for patients. 🙏🏻 A big thank you to Marianna Kruithof-de Julio and her entire team for their commitment. On May 22nd, the 'International Dialogue on Ovarian Cancer, from Bench to Bedside' congress brought together experts from the Sbarro Health Research Organization, Temple University College of Science and Technology and the Università degli Studi di Messina in a groundbreaking event! This hybrid congress, organized by myself, and Professor Alfredo Ercoli , bridged the gap between molecular research and clinical practice, fostering collaboration to improve ovarian cancer outcomes. Researchers shared the latest advancements, while clinicians discussed current treatment protocols and emphasized the vital feedback loop between the lab and the clinic. Professor Vincenzo Carnevale’s insights on how AI is revolutionizing cancer research were particularly noteworthy. 🎉 I am excited to announce that our recent study, "Predictive Factors Associated with Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients with Colorectal Cancer in Iran: A Cross-Sectional Study," has been published in BMJ Open! (IF=2.4, Q1) This research highlights key factors influencing the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in colorectal cancer patients, with significant findings that can help improve patient care in this critical area. We explored how factors such as comorbidities, treatment type, and socio-demographic characteristics predict HRQoL, with implications for tailored interventions that can enhance patient outcomes. A big thank you to my co-authors, Mohamad Hasan Sahebihagh and Neda Gilani, as well as the entire team involved in this study. It was a privilege to work on such impactful research, and we hope it contributes meaningfully to the field of cancer care. #alhamdulillah Thrilled to announce the publication of my latest review article, "Exosomal ncRNAs in Liquid Biopsies for Lung Cancer," in Clinica Chimica Acta (Impact Factor: 3.2, CiteScore: 10.1). This review explores the promising role of exosomal non-coding RNAs as diagnostic and therapeutic tools in the fight against lung cancer. With the growing potential of liquid biopsies to revolutionize cancer diagnostics, exosomal ncRNAs offer a minimally invasive approach to better understand disease progression and treatment response. I hope this work adds value to the scientific community and sparks further discussions on the use of liquid biopsies in clinical practice.
