Let’s talk about faith and the LGBTQ+ community. 🏳️🌈 ⛪ 🏳️⚧️ In a recent episode of the Better Together Arizona podcast, Angela Hughey is joined by Bishop Jennifer Reddall, the first female Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. As we approach some of the most prominent religious holidays in the United States, Bishop Reddall reminds us that Christmas 🎄 in particular is about the celebration of humanity, the core of Christianity is about love, and the image of God is in every person. ❤️ Check out the episode: https://lnkd.in/dUmzqBTe #BetterTogetherArizona #LGBTQPodcasts #EpiscopalChurchLGBTQ

Today, on International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBT), I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Why This Matters: LGBTQ+ individuals still face discrimination and violence around the world. Creating a more inclusive workplace benefits everyone - it fosters creativity, innovation, and a stronger company culture. By supporting LGBTQ+ rights, we are creating a more just and equitable society for all. What You Can Do: Educate yourself about LGBTQ+ issues. Challenge assumptions and biases. Speak up against discrimination. Support LGBTQ+ organizations. #IDAHOBT #LGBTQ+ #Equality

Today is the international day against homophobia, transphobia and biphobia! Some people still wonder why we need "days like these." I myself had to remove 3 people from my life due to transphobic memes and comments they were sharing on social media. I couldn't educate them as the usual phrases of "I don't get it" or "why is it shoved in our faces" were given. I reiterated to them that as long as being part of the LGBTQ+ community is seen as a sin and negative then this fight and talk will continue. Today is a great day to open the conversations to those who are willing to listen and grow with us.

🚨New Flash🚨 You don’t have to struggle with an issue or align with/be a certain identity in order to show empathy and advocate for certain groups of people. For example, a straight cisgendered person doesn’t have to know what it’s like to be lgbtq+ in order to be an advocate or support fellow lgbtq+ humans. Some people just have a heart or they at least just know what it’s like to be bullied or mistreated for another reason. Therefore, they recognize their privilege and decide to stand up for marginalized and oppressed folx. This can apply to a wide range of issues. Not just lgbtq+. Please use your beautiful brains. 🤗 #intersectionality #advocacy

This meme humorously shows the confidence and pride of the LGBTQ community, challenging stereotypes about how someone "should" look to fit a certain identity. 😄 LGBTQ organizations and centers can use memes like this to promote acceptance and celebrate diversity. Encouraging people to embrace their true selves helps create a more inclusive community. 💬 CenterLink and its member centers play a crucial role in fostering these values by providing support and resources. They help create safe spaces where everyone feels seen and appreciated for who they are. 🏳️🌈 📣 Call to action: What’s your reaction to this meme? 😂 Image Description: A dark blue-themed design showcasing image of the person highlighting the humorous interaction with magical rainbows and lights. #LGBTQCommunity #CelebrateDiversity #BreakStereotypes

There’s a part of the LGBTQ+ community that’s even less talked about than bisexuality: intersex people. Did you know there are over 45 known intersex variations, involving a wide range of natural differences in chromosomes, hormone levels, and anatomy that fall outside typical male or female classifications? Many people can be intersex and not even know it. But when babies are born with visible intersex traits (like ambiguous or mixed genitalia), they often face forced surgeries, and their parents are many times given inaccurate information. To support the intersex community, we need to understand it better. Educate yourself at https://lnkd.in/gq4bZZeV.
Intersex Day of Remembrance is observed each year on November 8 to honor intersex individuals who have faced discrimination and violence, reminding us of their challenges and the importance of compassion. 💜 LGBTQ organizations and centers strengthen their support for intersex individuals by recognizing their unique struggles and creating safer spaces for everyone in the LGBTQ community. 🏳️🌈 We can all contribute to intersex rights and awareness through education and allyship. 📚 CenterLink and local LGBTQ centers are essential in advocating for intersex rights and creating inclusive environments that celebrate diversity. 🤝 What comes to your mind when you think of this day? Please share your thoughts in the comments! 💬 To find an LGBTQ center near you, visit https://lnkd.in/e6jecvqT. Getting older is challenging enough. Aging as a member of the LGBTQ+ community can be even more so. More than 3 million LGBTQ+ Americans are over age 50. Many of us don’t have grown children to help us as we age. However, with a long history of fighting discrimination, we have built strength, resilience, and humor that will serve us well in later years.
