𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒: 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 In the year 2029, we would be at the cusp of the 2030 deadline for the collective commitments of nations to reduce carbon emissions; the 2028 US Presidential Election capped an eventful four years for the world; artificial intelligence (AI) is already intertwined into our lives.  We are pleased to share the views of the CIO investment professionals at Bank of Singapore and the perspectives of our esteemed GAC council members in this seminal publication. These five “Supertrends” anticipate the future we will confront over the next five years, pointing us to navigate the geopolitical, macro policy, investment, technology, environmental and social dilemmas of our time: i) The New World Order, ii) Rethinking Long-term Capital Allocation, iii) Artificial Intelligence (AI) – The Next Frontier, iv) The Climate of Change, and v) Infrastructure – Building the Way. Against a world order that presses against challenges for liberal democracy, globalization in trade and the hegemony of incumbent superpowers, it is timely for us to re-examine, re-think and re-calibrate our own preconceptions about how capital should be allocated, what seeds to sow for future growth, and the investments that will bear fruit in the short and long-term horizon.
