Hurry up and wait by Peculiarly Positive Perspectives The phrase "Hurry up and wait" is commonly used to describe situations where one needs to act quickly and then wait for a long time. It is often used in the military, healthcare, and everyday life. One of the greatest things about the Disney races is that they offer a great opportunity to bring substantial attention to a cause. This year I got to speak on the Jumbotron to 12192 people. When I got to speak I brought attention to a study done by Brown University. The study showed that 30177 active duty military have died to suicide compared to the 7057 that we have lost to combat since 9/11. When I share these numbers I then deliver my keynote, it CAN be to late to send a text or phone call to a friend telling them that you’re thinking about them or asking about their day. Maybe you know the feeling, but a simple, “hey man, I’ve been thiinking about you, how have you been?”, can be a life changing sentence to people. Delivering this message can always be a little intimidating because it’s not a happy message. People still found me during the race to thank me for my message and some even sprinting up to me to talk to me so we’d walk together for some time so I could listen. The point is this, if you’re thinking about someone, don’t wait to reach out. Reach out and let them know. Reach out to those around you and when you ask how they’re doing, give them the time to listen. We can bring the number of suicides down. We just have to start making a change with how we interact with people. https://lnkd.in/gj3yupzw <-link to study

UAM & eVTOL CAN SUCCEED WITH THE RIGHT ENTERPRISE SUCCESS ALGORITHM :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Undoubtedly, electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing ("eVTOL") vehicles will add a new and exciting category of air transportation operating within the National Airspace System ("NAS") governed by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration ("FAA"). The operating cost per/hour coupled with the necessity to recoup heavy upfront aircraft development, airworthiness certification and manufacturing facility buildout costs dictates that a fiscally responsible enterprise initially cannot charge the price of an Uber/Lyft ride and expect to turn a profit ... especially when passenger seating is limited to a 4-6 person capacity. Per trip, that would generate between $120 to $300 per eVTOL short shuttle load which is insufficient to service debt + payback obligations to investors/shareholders + run day-to-day operations + expand. Akin to the rollout of cellular in 1983, pricing for eVTOL flight service must initially be high and therefore affordable by the richer and more affluent. Even to this day, how many middle income people take a helicopter to the airport versus a taxicab, car or subway train? [THE GOOD NEWS: THERE IS A PATH TO SUCCESS IN THE eVTOL INDUSTRY!] As an avid cheerleader for and subject matter expert on the Urban Air Mobility ("UAM") market and the eVTOL technology behind it (aerospace vehicle design, navigation, wireless telecommunications, AI, network, IoT, safety systems and etcetera), my partners and I will be speaking out more on educating the public, regulators and industry on what it will take to ensure all around success and heavy profitability like we experienced in the development of the domestic public cellular telephone industry which continues to thrive and grow at an astronomical rate. Archer is but one of dozens of eVTOL developers that includes Joby Aviation, Wisk, and others. No matter how much money institutional and public investors pour into any particular eVTOL company there is no guarantee for success except for those who do not ignore the factors for success and lessons learned by their emerging technology predecessors. Regards ☆ Peter Lewis
Thanks CBS for coming out to Archer HQ! Great Sunday morning watch with Adam Goldstein and some Midnight flight footage.

As November arrives, it brings a mix of nostalgia and beauty—those dim days, colder nights, and memories that linger. In my latest blog post, I explore the other side of winter, where warmth and peace exist amidst the chill. Join me as I reflect on the joy within our bittersweet memories and the magic of creating new ones. https://lnkd.in/dSX4vpT4

Joint Special Operations University USSOCOM Doowan Lee Christian J. Ramthun this is the type of thinking missing at USSOCOM and Joint Special Operations University. US SOF neither recruits, knows how to manage, or properly employ such an array of available capabilities. Instead, risk adverse PME and thinking grooms SOF leaders to default to training for the perfect raid. Leaders focused on the perfect raid will never inspire the writing of "The Moon is Down" or advocate for such attacks in the cognitive space. US SOF needs to focus on the uncomfortable and not rest on the laurels of high profile raids that were stunning tactical successes with no lasting strategic effect
OSS veteran and CIA Director William Casey died OTD 1987. He said “OSS was probably the most diverse aggregation ever assembled of scholars, scientists, bankers, foreign correspondents, tycoons, Hollywood stunt men, psychologists, football stars, playwrights, novelists, circus managers, circus freaks, safe crackers, lock pickers, and pick pockets. You name them - Donovan collected them.”

Good insight here about House outrage theatre supplants actual governance.
Shutdown theater is back again. For a freshman member of Congress, it’s wild how familiar I am with this routine. Pretty sure I know all the moves to the dance. Here’s my sense of how it’ll go:

A good reminder for all of us…take a hand and “jump in some mud puddles!!!” Why jump in mud puddles? The better question is…why not? And then the follow up is…why do we stop jumping in mud puddles? I simply believe that jumping in mud puddles will help you with your relationships at home, and with your work relationships and productivity, too. What are your thoughts?
This video is a good reminder for dads A while back we got new shoes for my older son. Shiny white velcro air forces lol. We wore them outside and were walking to the car one rainy day and he immediately jumped in a mud puddle (because he’s a kid and that’s what he’s supposed to do) My first thought was to get mad and tell him he was going to ruin his shoes But then I thought of this video. And I thought of the fact that jumping in puddles is exactly how I want his childhood to be. It’s how I want him to look back and remember this time. As dads it’s so easy for us to dampen their natural and healthy curiosity about the world. And if we don’t let them, for example, jump in the mud puddles, eventually that spark of curiosity will be extinguished forever. Instead, let them get a little muddy sometimes. You’ll be glad you did

Our reality is OUR PERCEPTION. What we perceive is OUR INTERPRETATION of reality through the FILTER OF OUR BELIEFS. CRITICIZING OTHERS, in this sense, belongs to the DUAL PERCEPTION OF REALITY, which is based on one's own system of beliefs that make up the structure of the CONSCIOUS MIND OR EGO. The ego functions in such a way that WE KNOW WHAT IS THROUGH THE EXPERIENCE OF WHAT IS NOT. This means that the one who criticizes another's behavior as INADEQUATE shows himself/herself and others that HIS/HER BEHAVIOR IS ADEQUATE. The Ego is LOGICAL unlike the SUBCONSCIOUS MIND OR SOUL which is INTUITIVE. In this sense, if we intuitively connect with our soul, we will find out WHAT WE PERCEIVE AND WHY. #perception #ego #duality #equilibrium #jasnicaklaramatic
