It can lead to burnout, as individuals push themselves to the brink to achieve these results, and it can foster a sense of dissatisfaction and unfulfillment, as the journey is disregarded in favor of the destination. So, how can we create a more balanced perspective that appreciates the journey as much as the destination? By acknowledging and celebrating the hard work, the failures, the lessons learned along the way. By recognizing that the journey is as important as the destination, and that the process of achieving results is just as valuable as the results themselves. It is certain that resources are limited, and not everyone has access to the resources needed to nurture their dreams. However, it is our personal responsibility to identify and allocate the limited resources at our disposal to pursue those dreams. Making brave decisions is not easy. Taking purposeful actions to support brave decisions is not any easier. But sometimes, we simply have to trust that everything we need is built inside of us. Just as my mother made the brave decision and took purposeful action back in 1984 to move our family to New York, for a chance at a brighter future for my sister and I. I have what it takes to do what’s best for my children. It’s in my DNA. I inherited the blessed genes of determination, grit, and hustle from my mother. I’m gonna trust my DNA and do all that I can to provide a different environment and experiences for my son to thrive in school and life. If you are faced with making life-changing decisions, I hope you’ll trust yourself and what’s already built inside of you to make the brave decisions and take purposeful actions that will meaningfully serve you and your loved ones. The upcoming move to Australia is exciting, but it will also be challenging on many levels for my family and I.
