BLACK PASTORS SELLING THE BLACK COMMUNITIES - As a young Catholic priest, I had the privilege of working with a group of black pastors, mostly non-Catholics. I was the diocesan spiritual advisor of African American (Black) Catholics Ministry. Needless to say, that was when I learned more than enough of my black brothers and sisters pastors. I later left the group for the military chaplaincy. There is a triad that have held our black communities and inner cities in bondage and perennially impoverished even with almost a century of voting Democrat: black pastors, black activists and black politicians. The triad actively work together to fleece, siphon and redirect funds meant for local communities programs to their bank accounts. Obama once worked for such local community organizing group in Chicago and ended up selling his soul to the devil - the reason why he couldn’t return back to Chicago and have not utter a word with all going on in Chicago including high crimes and high murder rate!! That’s why these black pastors continually desecrate the black churches by allowing these corrupt politicians to use their pulpits to bambuzzled and lie and make empty promises year after year, elections after elections, and our black communities still remain hell holes! Yet, we are quick to play victims and blame white folks and white supremacy for our problems. Look at what’s going on around the country and who are being pushed out from their communities programs facilities to accommodate immigrants crossing the borders. Whose policies opened wide the borders - Democrats! Who are losing jobs to these immigrants? Mostly black folks!!

🌟 **Reflecting on the Intersection of Faith and Politics: A Call for Moral Courage** 🌟 As we navigate the complexities of modern politics, I find myself deeply concerned about the implications of recent electoral outcomes, particularly for communities of faith. In a landscape where 54% of Catholic voters supported a president whose actions often contradict our core values of dignity and justice, we must ask ourselves: What does our faith compel us to stand for? As a Black Catholic, I resonate with Daryl Grigsby's poignant reflections on the moral challenges posed by current leadership. His call to action emphasizes the importance of grounding our political decisions in the principles of Catholic social teaching—principles that advocate for the marginalized and uphold the sanctity of all human lives. 🔍 **Why does this matter?** - Our faith should not be compromised by racial biases or political affiliations. - Recognizing the profound implications of our votes is essential, particularly in matters of justice, equality, and the common good. In the spirit of collective growth and understanding, I urge my fellow Catholics and allies to engage in meaningful conversations about our values and the responsibility that accompanies our faith. Let’s challenge ourselves to lead with compassion and to ensure that our actions and choices reflect the truth of our beliefs. Together, we can create a society that truly embodies the love and respect advocated by our faith. What are your thoughts? How can we better align our political engagement with our commitment to justice? 🤔💬 #FaithAndPolitics #CatholicSocialTeaching #SocialJustice #MoralCourage #CommunityEngagement

Note: #OurStory & #his_story are no longer a #Missed_Story (mystery), mindful that #OurStory and #his_story are not congruent nor synonymous. For example, Africa is a misnomer like Egypt, most perfectly known as #Kemet_Nubia. New documents have shed light on the recondite origins and inner abstruse workings of the shadowy Society for American Civic Renewal (SACR), including methods for judging the beliefs of potential members on topics such as Christian nationalism, and indications that its founders sought inspiration in an apartheid-era South African white men-only group, the Afrikaner-Broederbond. These documsnts also show that Boise State University Professor and Claremont think tank scholar Scott Yenor tried to coordinate SACR’s activities with other initiatives, including an open letter on “Christian marriage”. One expert says that one of the new documents – some previously reported in Talking Points Memo – use biblical references that suggest a preparedness for violent struggle against the current “regime”. The SACR is a secretive far-right men-only organization with an emphasis on Christian nationalism and a desire to open branches across the US. #sacr #christiannationalism https://lnkd.in/ezXfFhPR

This is a solid piece aimed at accurately defining and understanding what Christian nationalism is, what it is not, and why we need to all be aware of the very real threats it presents to democracy. Also, it's always fulfilling when my work on Christian nationalism with Sam Perry is cited in the NYT! Indiana University Indianapolis https://lnkd.in/gptDQMrv

Many are puzzled by how, despite the mountains of evidence against Donald J. Trump —from credible testimonies of former officials like Gen. Mark Milley and Defense Secretaries James Mattis and Mark Esper to ex-national security adviser John Bolton, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Vice President Mike Pence and others —the race remains so close. The unsettling truth is that White Christian Nationalism plays a significant role in this dynamic. This ideology suggests that a large segment of our population is not only aware of who Trump is and his promises but also finds resonance in his hate-filled rhetoric. It speaks to their core beliefs and values. I appreciate Father Bryan Massingale’s powerful definition of White Christian Nationalism: “White Christian Nationalism is the nonrational, instinctual, and visceral conviction that the country—its public spaces, political institutions, and cultural heritage—belongs to white Christians (especially straight cisgender men) in a way that it does not and should not belong to others.” This insight, drawn from a book published in 2010, underscores a reality many of us never anticipated confronting so soon. As we head into the elections, let’s commit to voting with a conscience shaped not by a distorted interpretation of Christianity, but by the liberating and transformative teachings of the one who continues to be crucified in the bodies of those who do not align with the ideal representation of the human according to White Christian Nationalists. Rather than living up to the claim that we are all created in God’s image and likeness, the image below portrays Jesus in a way that aligns with the preferences of a select few. #Vote #EradicateWhiteSupremacy #SaveDemocracy #Liberation #Matthew25 #PreferentialOptionforthePoorandMarginalized

#TheConversation “Christian nation” Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Jones, who co-pastors at the First Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri, is talking about what Christian nationalism, primarily represented by white right-wing “Christian soldiers,” is a growing movement that seeks to define the U.S. as a “Christian nation” with an official Christian culture. This group, which constitutes about 20% of the public, believes in the dominance of Christians in American law and public policy. They are known to treat minorities and non-Christians as second-class citizens, potentially leading to increased racial tensions, voting restrictions, and policies hostile to immigrants and refugees. The influence of Christian nationalism is already shaping state and local policies, including book bans and reinterpretation of American history in school curricula. Behind the scenes, a coalition of right-wing Christian groups are advancing a package of Christian-right bills, ranging from displaying the motto “In God We Trust” in government buildings to favoring intimate sexual relations only between married, heterosexual couples in public policy. The movement, which has grown in recent years, now includes militant individuals who resort to violence to preserve Christian values, as seen in events like the “Unite the Right” rally and the January 6, 2021, insurrection. As Christians, especially evangelicals, it’s crucial not to support or tolerate such extremism.
