If you think that the data space evolves such a way that you might feel pulled in every direction, you are not alone 🙂. Who cannot remember the first day he heard about this one disruptive technology, this new paradigm shift or this terrific new state of the art? How good are we to remember who are the heroes who really blew our minds and changed the course of the digital journey? How good are we to give back the credits to who really desserves it? On my side I was totally thrilled the day I followed an online course about deep learning in 2016, offered by Stanford University. This was also the rise of MOOCs: a a democratic access to state of the art data science and AI. Thanks so much Andrew Ng for the impulsion, for having provided access to AI to everyone. We are all praying for the « Data God » but how really data-centric are we? Have a look to the data centric manifesto here: https://lnkd.in/eaV96m43. Thanks Dave McComb and Brian Platz for giving data it’s right role, semantics, … and future. Who did not hear about Data Mesh? Industry 4.0 is the era where humans and machines collaborate and cooperate. We needed a paradigm shift to re-integrate humans in the technology landscape with the right mindset, this was Zhamak Dehghani’ s vision in 2018, and I still remember the day I read the post here: https://lnkd.in/dNcHZZE. Big ideas are quickly subject to hype, and we have to be careful not to get trapped by echoes, continuously rephrasing and revoicing big ideas: let’s be sure we are still driven by the original voices, as they are already working on the next big ideas. Last but not least, as a humble follower, I am sharing my thoughts thanks to the HTTP protocol, so I cannot forget Tim Berners-Lee and thank him for having invented the Internet and the real Web 3.0: the semantic web of data.
