Every night, millions of children around the world go to bed hungry. Even more alarming is that nearly half of deaths among children under five are linked to undernutrition -- that’s one child dying every 10 seconds. This #GivingTuesday, I'm proud to join @Plan International Canada in creating a world where no child faces hunger and no family struggles with the life-long impact of food insecurity. Together, we have an ambitious goal: raising 2,000 Food Basket #GiftsOfHope. With a $50 donation -- matched 7X – you can provide $400 worth of life-saving staples for families around the world at risk of starvation. In 2023 alone, Plan International Canada distributed over 245,000 metric tons of food to fight hunger and change lives. Imagine what we can do this year with your support. Visit plangifts.ca today and give the gift of hope and nourishment.

Welcome to June! Here are three things you can do this month to advocate for the girl child: 1. *Write Encouraging Letters*: Reach out to girls in your community or through organizations that support girl children. Write letters of encouragement, letting them know they are capable, strong, and valued. 2. *Support Education*: Donate books, school supplies, or even your time to tutor or mentor girls. Education is a powerful tool for empowerment, and your contribution can make a significant difference in their lives. 3. *Raise Awareness*: Use your voice on social media or in your local community to highlight issues affecting girls. Share stories, facts, and ways others can get involved in supporting and advocating for the rights and opportunities of girl children. On this National Day for #TruthandReconciliation, we reaffirm our commitment to the ongoing journey of truth, reconciliation, and healing with #Indigenous communities. #TruthandReconciliationDay and Orange Shirt Day, is a day for reflection, learning, and taking meaningful action toward understanding the truths of #Canada’s history. 🍁 On this day, we encourage everyone to take steps toward reconciliation by: 💡 Educating - Learning about the painful legacy of residential schools. Watching documentaries like the National Film Board’s We Were Children can be a powerful way to understand these stories. 🦻 Listening - Hearing directly from Indigenous voices about their experiences and perspectives. 👐 Supporting - Whether through donations or participating in Indigenous community events, there are many ways to help. 💭 Reflecting - Taking time to think about how we can all work together toward healing and a brighter future. Reconciliation isn’t just a moment, it’s a lifelong journey. Today, we recommit to walking this path with humility, respect, and a dedication to learning. 🧡 #truth #reconciliation #everychildmatters #indigenoushistory #educationisthenewbuffalo #learningandaction #supportindigenouscommunities #calgaryblackchambers

🌟 Raising Just Kids with Church Values 🌟 It's important to start conversations with our kids about social justice and the Church’s teachings on these vital issues. Here are some simple ways to break it down: ✨ Equality and Dignity: Every person is made in the image of God. Teach your children that everyone deserves respect and love, regardless of their background. 🤝 Helping the Poor: Jesus teaches us to care for the less fortunate. Encourage your kids to participate in charitable activities and understand the value of giving. 🌍 Care for Creation: The Church emphasizes the importance of taking care of our planet. Show them small ways to make a big difference, like recycling and conserving water. ⚖️ Justice and Peace: Discuss the importance of fairness and standing up against injustice. Explain that the Church supports peaceful solutions and the protection of human rights. 📚 Learn Together: Use age-appropriate resources like books and videos that align with the Church's teachings to help them understand these complex topics. How a Catholic Life Coach Can Help: 🌱 Empowerment through Faith: A Catholic Life Coach can empower kids to take action on social justice issues by helping them set faith-based goals and encouraging them to make a positive impact. 🗣️ Communication Skills: They can teach kids effective ways to discuss social justice topics, ensuring they can articulate their beliefs and values confidently and respectfully. 🌟 Living Out Values: By aligning daily actions with faith, a Catholic life coach helps kids practice what they preach, turning their beliefs into meaningful actions in their communities. Let’s raise a generation that understands and embodies the Church’s commitment to social justice! 💖 Download this E book about 'living a life with purpose and joy' https://lnkd.in/eJfRPJzr #FaithInAction #CatholicFamily #SocialJustice #RaisingKindKids #CatholicTherapy #CatholicLifeCoach

What if I said how you talk about money and generosity in your church could be tied to how much your church gives? Generosity is more than just tithing. It's more than just dropping cash in the offering plate or writing a check. I want to help you build a culture of generosity that starts with how you engage your church and its approach to giving. "What do you recommend to say to stakeholders who request “poverty porn”-style stories?" We have been asked variations of this question time and time again... 💣 The truth is: Nonprofit professionals are ready to adopt ethical storytelling practices, but they worry about how to get their entire community on board. So, we asked the experts. And, thankfully, our friends Megan Donahue, Christina Tzavaras Edwards, Erika Spence and Jordana Merkin had great suggestions to share! We synthesized them into three actionable steps: Step 1️⃣: Have Tough Conversations & Be Prepared to Give Grace Step 2️⃣: Make a Communications Plan & Gather Buy-In Step 3️⃣: Build Community & Raise More Funds Full article: https://lnkd.in/e9UDhRbV #ethicalstorytelling #exploitativestories
