🔑 Empowerment is a journey, and last week during our MT offsite, one of my brilliant colleagues Jens van de Graaf, perfectly captured it with this simple yet powerful order: I fix it ➡️ Let's fix it ➡️ You fix it. This is also a leadership lesson I first learned two years ago from Alex Whitford 🔹, and it completely changed the way I lead. I used to be the kind of manager who jumped in to solve my team's problems, thinking I was helping. But in reality, it cost us more time and growth opportunities—for both me and my team. Here’s what I’ve learned about moving from I fix it to You fix it: 🔑 Make sure you adapt it to seniority levels 🔑 Set clear expectations on where ownership is expected 🔑 Instead of giving answers, ask questions. Let them walk you through their thought process and solutions. Empowering your team isn’t just about handing over responsibility— it's about helping them grow into it. 🌱

Building a great team starts with focusing on the person, not just their credentials. When you hire for the human, you prioritize qualities like integrity, adaptability, and a willingness to grow, traits that can't be taught in a training program. Start with choosing people who align with your vision, and investing in their growth ensures if you are looking to build a strong team. The true mark of leadership is shaping individuals into their best selves while building a legacy of trust, collaboration, and excellence This approach doesn’t just fill positions; it builds teams that thrive.

“Every great team was once a group of individuals.” Let’s talk for a minute: What’s your take on the difference between a group and a team? Both play critical roles in business, but they’re not the same. A limitless leader knows when to leverage each. Groups manage tasks, share skills, and exchange information. Teams? They create unique value. They aspire to a greater good—something beyond just the sum of their parts. Today, teams are asked to solve challenges and generate value that individuals or groups simply can’t. In my coaching, I’ve seen leaders transform once they grasp this shift. Their influence grows when they see the potential that true teams can unlock. What would that shift look like for you? #coaching #limitlesleader #leadership #growth

Unless you have everyone on your Team: • Performing in clearly understood roles with defined goals ... • Willing to speak up on challenges and remain aligned ... • Listening and participating in value-add meetings ... • Celebrating individual as well as group successes ... • Building connections in a respectful environment ... ... then hitting and exceeding your goals will ALWAYS remain out of reach.
