Well lucky youse, Disney Animation's artistic summer internships are now live and just waiting for you to apply to them! And they come in 4 fun flavors including Story, Visdev, and, hold onto your blackwings, 2d Animation Cleanup!!!!! You can find the link to the posts below, but a few quick tips before you click across the interwebs toward them: - Yes, you CAN apply for multiple, simultaneous internships. If you do, just be sure you're bespoking your applications to each role with a specific portfolio relevantly focused to each discipline you're applying for - Yes, we DO welcome international candidates the world over to apply! - Note that there is an application deadline for the role so don't feel pressured to immediately apply. Granted, don't wait til the last sec to do so either, but you have just about 2 months until the deadline if you wanna take some time to finesse and update the ol' portfol. - Capital NOTE: To be eligible for our summer internships, YOU HAVE TO BE A CURRENT STUDENT (specifically, you are enrolled in an academic program pursuing a degree/diploma and are returning to school again in the fall). This is a FIRM requirement for the role, to the point that you are required to include your anticipated graduation date on your resume to apply. If you've already graduated, graduating this spring, or are taking individual classes/workshops for your own growth, unfortunately you are not eligible for this program. In 300 hours within 3 months, I created this 10 shot demo reel from scratch for Summer 2025 internships while being a full time student at Otis, part time employee Resident Assistant, AnimSchool student, and reserving time to foster important relationships Here’s what I focused on: 1. Quality vs Quantity: I focused on high quality time for work allowing myself only 20-25 hours a week to dedicate to 3D Animation. During my 90 minute deep work sessions, there were no distractions, no social media, no music, just noise cancelling headphones, brown noise, and high quality deliberate practice at work 2. Quality Rest: I made sure to take a few minutes to get up and stretch between every 20-30 min interval depending on a random timer as well as a 10-15 minute Non-Sleep Deep Rest Protocol (NSDR) per session to reinforce my learnings from my 90 min of deep work. 3. Quality Science: I followed Andrew Huberman’s “Neuroplasticity Super Protocol” consisting of deep breath exercises, visual focus exercises, generating the maximum amount of repetitions, random micro-rest intervals, maximum 90 min learning sessions, NSDR, and having quality sleep, diet, and exercise 4. Quality Consistency: I made it a habit to do a bit of 3D animation work everyday even if it was just 30 minutes so it became a natural routine and reduced the amount of energy required to start the work #3danimation #animation #animations

Before landing onto design, i flirted with many domains and internships, worked out for me? None! Design wasn’t on my bingo cards for sure, but I really like designing. I might not be the best designer you’ll meet, but I will be the most enthusiastic, T shaped designer you’ll meet! I focus on how i can make basic processes easier, good design follows! During my internship at Internship Studio. I gained hands-on experience editing a variety of projects using Adobe Premiere Pro, including a photo slideshow, a vlog, a video montage, a highlight reel, and a memory lane video. Each project presented unique challenges, allowing me to refine my skills in video editing, storytelling, and creative design. From organizing media assets to applying transitions, effects, and audio synchronization, these projects helped me develop a comprehensive understanding of video production, enhancing my ability to create engaging and professional-quality content. We’ve teamed up with Jajuan Brooks, an amazing 3D artist, to bring Ollie to life. Here’s a fun back story: Who is Ollie? Ollie is Observe’s mascot, a time traveling whale species! Originally named Big-O after Big-O notation which is the time complexity of an algorithm. Ollie symbolizes growth and exploration — with the plant that grows from his blow hole, representing the seed of knowledge and the whale standing for wisdom and guidance. Whales travel the 7 oceans, dive deep, fight off giant squids and protect others, much like how Ollie helps students navigate career exploration. Ollie represents our mission to help students explore and discover potential careers. Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes video showing what a day in the life of a 3D animator looks like.
