Witnessing the transformation of children born with cleft conditions inspire me to keep moving forward throughout my journey. With Operation Smile, I have the. Privileged to work alongside extraordinary people who are committed to helping children and patients. These remarkable individuals are doctors, nurses, volunteers and generous donor. Your shop has ups and downs, challenges and rewards, and I'm truly grateful to my colleagues who always gave me the unwavering support and inspirations. One of the most unforgettable moments in my career in an Operation Smile is when patients show their gratitude during the surgery program. Some of these family from ethnic minority groups living in remote area in very poor conditions. They might not even speak our language, but their eyes convey A profound sense of gratitude for the surgeries and the kindness they have received. Ultimately, as a member of operations my team, I take immense pride in knowing that. We are making the world a better place by sharing love and care through safe surgery and thank you all for joining us in this remarkable journeys.

It's always better to work with what you have rather than fretting over what you don’t. Recently, I had the pleasure of giving a talk at the Philippine Consulate's Paaralan sa Konsulado program, where I introduced Filipino American kids to some lesser-known Filipino superheroes. We dived into the stories of heroes like Darna, Kaptain Barbel, Zsazsa Zaturnnah, Panday, and Flash Bomba. These characters, while not as globally famous as Superman or Wonder Woman, hold a special place in Filipino culture and narrative. What fascinated the kids—and even me—was the common thread among these superheroes: they all worked with what they had, whether it was a stone that fell from the heavens or a magical golden barbell, they used what they had and turned it into something super.
During the talk, we discussed how these superheroes didn't waste time wishing for different powers or circumstances. Instead, they harnessed their unique gifts and made the best out of them. Darna, for instance, transforms into a powerful heroine by swallowing a mystical stone, while Kaptain Barbel gains his strength from a magical barbell. Each of these characters found their strength and heroism in the most unexpected places. This struck a chord with the kids and sparked a lively discussion about how we can apply this superhero philosophy to our own lives.
Many of us spend a lot of time fretting over the things we don't have, but the reality is that we're capable of doing pretty awesome things if we focus on what we currently possess. Whether it's a talent, a skill, or even a personal trait, there's always something we can leverage to make a difference. So, take a page from the book of Filipino superheroes: look at what you have, embrace it, and turn it into your superpower. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve when you stop worrying about what you lack and start working with what you’ve got. #WorkWithWhatYouHave#FilipinoSuperheroes#EmbraceYourGifts#mirandism#unapologetic#unapologeticdude

One of the key takeaways from yesterday’s session was the relationship between culture and identity. Dr. Eva Washburn-Repollo shared a powerful insight on the importance of acknowledging the negative behaviors that exist within every culture. She emphasized that recognizing these behaviors is essential to ensure we don’t continue harmful cycles.
A poignant example she discussed was how some Filipinos might unintentionally make fun of their immigrant parents’ accents. While it may seem trivial, this behavior can contribute to feelings of inferiority and reinforce colonialist mindsets.
Dr. Washburn-Repollo reminded us of the importance of self-awareness in these moments, stating, “It is okay to recognize the negative behaviors of your culture so you do not perpetuate the cycle.”
By embracing this understanding, we can foster a stronger, more positive sense of cultural identity and break the patterns that hold us back.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Haider Jasdan the esteemed speaker for the enlightening session you led for the associates Trianz. Your profound insights and extensive experiences have not only sparked our minds but have also provided a strong foundation for us to collectively cultivate a more enriched and empowered future.
Your storytelling narrative, integrating personal elements and weaving them into Urdu poems, demonstrated that each of us carries the ability to embrace our identity and wield the power to voice our perspectives. Your emphasis on creating an ecosystem that cuts off the noise around us, advocating for expression over impression, and highlighting the significance of small actions deeply resonated with our participants.
Each attendee experienced a profound moment of introspection and departed with a renewed sense of purpose and ownership. Your remarkable ability to cultivate an atmosphere where questions were encouraged and openness was embraced has fostered a culture of collaborative learning within our community.
We extend our sincerest appreciation for enriching our professional community with your wealth of knowledge, invaluable guidance, and uplifting presence.
Thank you once again for your impactful contribution.
