As the year 2024 came to an end, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this incredible journey and share some lessons I’ve learned along the way. At the beginning of the year, I started a new role as a Solutions Architect for ISV customers. To be honest, at that time, I didn’t even know what ISV stood for. But I felt that I needed that change as I had been grappling with a challenge already for some time — feeling exhausted, burnt out, and unsure of how to climb out of that space. It took a lot of courage to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. Even though this was an internal transfer and I already had experience at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the onboarding process was tough. I had to learn many subjects completely from scratch. By April, I began working directly with customers, leading workshops, technical sessions, and discussions. Each day brought new learning opportunities. I had the chance to support several generative AI projects, dive deep into analytics workflows, optimize costs using Edge services, and so much more. One of the highlights of my year was joining the technical field community as an expert in In-Memory databases. Supporting big migration projects to Amazon ElastiCache and advocating Valkey adoption across EMEA has been immensely fulfilling. Networking and traveling to different countries have broadened my perspective and enriched my professional journey. Some lessons I’ve learned this year: 1/ If you’re not feeling excitement and find yourself drowning deeper into imposter syndrome, it’s time for a change. The situation won’t improve by itself. 2/ Talk to people. Engage with consultants, set up 1:1s with those you want to learn from, and explore new opportunities. 3/ Be visible. Don’t be afraid to say, “I did it” or “I want it.” And I can't finith this post without saying great thanks to my team (SAs IL ISV 🤘 ) for support and collaboration. You are AWSome!
